Do you remember the first time you managed to read a Japanese sentence, how proud you were?

Any by now, I forgot half the Kanji, 1000+ words piled up in Anki for review.

I read some manga a few weeks before it was scanlated. I read some VNs (still needed machine translation help) that may never be translated.

Overall it wasn't worth it. Even if I read 5 times as much, it wouldn't have been worth is. Even if you stay neet, this might just be a phase in your life you're gonna look back on. Just like WoW.

I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I have some sort of plastic trading card with a picture of kimeemaru on it along with some Japanese text.

One time I was looking it over and realized I knew some of the letters on the card. It said "Ooo Ooo... Kawaii Kawaii."

That was the first real Japanese sentence I read. Since then, Kimeemaru has had a special place in my heart.
