Rather than obsessing so much about what characters that will be in it, I am more interested in what storyline(s) will be like. Also, to what level the hostility between the fractions will reach. Pretty much all the characters from UFO and TD I want to see developed, so I'd be happy just seeing as many of them as possible.

I want to see Satori make an appearance in a fighting game. Mind-reading type effects could be a lot of fun to try to implement. Give her spell cards that cast one of the opponent's spell cards or delay enemy input by a little bit along with counters a la Hakumen, only instead of working on a high/med/low basis they would be high/low/projectile.

I often found the verbal exchanges in the fighting games a bit more on the rough side compared to the danmaku games, and seeing as Miko and Byakuren appeared to be struggling to keep it civil already in SoPM I'm interested in seeing with the exchanged between the different fraction will be in this game, even if I don't believe it will be out of bounds for Touhou.

On an unrelated note, some comment in the previous thread made me want to play Ougon Musou again. So I was messing around in arcade mode and ended up fighting George, who has a counter-based super move. And CPU George has an irritating habit of managing to pull that move off in the millisecond between you inputting an attack and the attack connecting EVERY FUCKING TIME. Goddamn that is annoying.

What if the final boss is Shinki, who purposefully weakened the seal holding Byakuren in place so that all of this could happen, causing infighting in Gensokyou to distract that horriby powerful human while she prepares for an all-out invasion?

I think Futo is one of the characters who have rather high chances of begin playable, but I have a bit of a hard time imagining what she'd be like to play as. I'm guessing long-range, a lot of danmaku? It would be really cool if she had an actual bow to go with her arrow danmaku, but I doubt that will happen.

There's a lot of characters that I'd like to see in it who are not going to because they're not popular enough, but, honestly I won't be disappointed with it despite the letdowns it could, and probably will, give me, unless it's something like online play DRM.

Flight as a core element of gameplay is honestly what held UNL back from being a good fighter, in my opinion. There comes a point where fights are just so slow paced and floaty that they become boring

I wouldn't expect to see more than 10 characters(original size of IAMP's cast). Likely only 1 or 2 from UFO & TD each, the main characters and a few fan favorites or plot relevant characters.

My guess would be Reimu, Marisa, Sanae, Youmu, Byakuren, Miko, Futo as the most likely. Suika, Aya, Alice & possibly Keine or 1 other UFO character after that. Maybe Kanako if Sanae doesn't use her as an assist again.

This new game uses completely different sprites and i really don't think that they will remake all the sprites just to include characters who should not really care that much about that religious conflict. Why should someone like Reisen even be in the new game? Because she was just there when the conflict starts? Because Eirin suddenly cares that much about the human village? Mysterious plans made by Kaguya? Because she wants to join a certain religious group to atone for her sins?

Poor ZUN, characters don't die when they lose a round. Even if they have infinite vitality, you could treat their HP bars as being their motivation meter or something like that. They lose and they get bored of fighting and they get out.
