Shit I was some time preparing that post to let anyone try streaming.

Complete guide for streaming you 2hus:

1.st step:Go to this page and follow up the instructions for setting up the Flash Media Live Encoder and SCFH:

http://thelivegameshq.com/public/FME.html

2nd step: Go to your sound control panel. Go to options > properties and select audio imput. Make sure that "Stereo Mix" is selected. Now, the window should have changed and should be showing: general volume, line volume and Stereo Mix... select stereo mix. Close that shit.

3rd step: Now open the Flash Media Live enconder and scfh and set it like the webpage mentioned above says.

4th step: Go to twitch.tv and make an account. Once you are logged in, go a down a little and you should find a button with the title "become a broadcaster". Select and then, download the config file that Twitch tv gives you to configure the Flash Media Live enconder.

5th Step: Go to the Media live encoder and go to file > Open profile and select the Configuration file you donwloaded from Twitch.tv

6th Step: Set everything as you like in the video and audio options. You can even record the stream in a file on your computer. keep in mind the bandwidth needed for the stream and your connection capabilities.

7th step: Start streaming and go to your Twitch.tv channel to ensure that everything is working.

USUAL PROBLEMS:

- Lag in your game: change the resolution to the minimun, play on windowed mode, change color to 16 bits, play at halve the frames etc.

Sound problems:

Download the full version of Virtual Audio Streaming. Use your google-fu to get a crack.

Open it and set it as the default sound playback device. Now go to Adobe Flash Media live enconder and set Virtual Audio Streaming as the sound recording device. You should start seeing movement on the sound bars on the side of the video example meaning that you are now getting sound.

You're more likely to be hit moving horizontally than any other movement (besides maybe diagonally downwards into the bullets), at nearly any given time.

Stop moving so much. If you have to mention that you're moving horizontally a lot it probably means you're spazzing around everywhere, which is a really common thing with new players.

To mitigate this, use the vpatch ini file to change the dimensions of the window (on the old ones. The new ones let you do it out the box). I use 1280x960, it's a nice compromise that allows you to see the chat and have things not be tiny.

Actualization on this shit.

I mentioned Virtual Audio Streaming but I can't find a frigginpatch that works (the program keeps saying "Trial" from time to time. That wourldn't be a problem if it didn't desynchronize audio and video.

>>9802350

2 things.

1st: the lag you get depends on your PC's specs. The bandwidth transmited to livestream or twitch.tv servers is allways the one specified by the Flash Media Live encoder.

2nd: Don't use livestream nor even think about using procaster. the program will suck dry your PC's resources (specially your RAM memory) compared to Flash Media Live Encoder. And don't use Livestream because it limits your bandwidth to 500 Kb/s maximum on your stream while Twitch.tv lets you stream whatever bandwidth you want.

Somebody who already has a rock solid understanding of fighting game fundamentals (such as pro players - Daigo, Jwong, Tokido, etc.) can pick up any game and start destroying in no time because they've already spent years gaining knowledge that translates to every game in the genre.

The same can be said of games in any genre. Yusemi SWY, GFA2 ISO, Clover TAC, etc. demolish every shump they play because they've spend so many years grinding their knowledge and skill.

I always had this issue of having a slow reaction speed. What I did was change the button mapping for the bomb to L1 on the controller. Your finger should rest naturally close to that, is easier to press, and you can press it with the joint of your left thumb. I became a lot more proficient at using bombs after that.

That said, I've still not managed to 1cc hard on any game yet, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Try it and see if it works for you, though.

Does anyone know how why this happens or how I can fix it? I tried installing PCB on a new computer, but I can't get it to not run at 1000+ FPS. ESoD and IN (and every newer Touhou game) work just fine, it's only PCB that is acting up like this.

My refresh rate is set to 60 hertz and I'm running the game in 98/ME compatibility, which seem to be the two more common issues. Windowed mode also doesn't help, it's where I took the screenshot. Also the game doesn't seem to have a "Force 60 FPS" option in the config, unfortunately.

Yesssss I am so excited to have this stupid debate again
a) A 1cc is an achievement because you limit your resources. If you increase the number of resources you have available outside of the actual game, that kinda defeats the purpose. It's also logically equivalent to using a continue, since either way you're adding extra lives to get the clear.
b) Even if you insist it's technically a 1cc because it was done with one credit, it isn't at all equal to a 1cc done with default lives. Since basically every other player uses default lives, what's the point of claiming a 1cc? It doesn't compare.

It's still an accomplishment, don't get me wrong. If its a first then he should be proud. Just don't call it something it isn't, that's not cool.

Not true.

So it still is a 1cc. Thanks.

It's an achievement, but not much of one anyway when considering objective skill. It's not like you should care for a 1cc when talking skill since score is the objective measurement of skill in most of these game. Using extra lives penalizes your score, so you get what you deserve.

So, /jp/, how do you play STGs? Relentlessly grind stages until you can do them in your sleep? Or would you rather play full runs, slowly chipping away at the game until you can get that high score?

It's been years and I still don't understand how this works. What kind of talented savant do you have to be to just look at a superplay and be able to mimic it after a few attempts? That's beyond ridiculous; those superplayers spend years practicing their skills to be able to pull off the kind of stuff that they do and you're saying that one could just look at it and quickly do the same? No way, that doesn't work unless the people copying it have thousands of hours of experience as well. I know /jp/ has a lot of 'T'alented savants, but saying that those few people just instantly somehow managed to "copy" superplayers and omit any problems whatsoever as if anyone can do the same is unreasonable. If this method worked, world records would be increasing every day; ASL wouldn't look like a bot playing IN. I would give both my legs to have that kind of ability to easily copy superplays.

I don't mean to come off as bitching, although I sure am orz.

Touhou is far from mainstream. You would be hard-pressed to find someone that doesn't know about CoD or WoW. Those games are mainstream.
>>9825348
Orin can be easy if you practice her enough.

I don't think that Anon meant "perfectly mimic". Although I do recommend watching high-level replays while first clearing, I never recommend copying them exactly, because it will be too hard and not everything there will be beneficial to survival.

It's perfectly possible to clear a Touhou game within a handful of tries if you are experienced enough, even without the help of replays.
