It is time for a new NEET lifestyle thread.

My package of buckyballs and buckycubes from a sale arrived. The balls are difficult to return them to their storage cube. But the cubes are fun. It is relaxing.

better CPU. The t60 has the core duos, t61 core 2 duos. Not much of a difference, but that's why I chose this model. Also it was a bargain.

Fair enough.
The only use I had for mine was doijinshi and VN reading in bed from a more comfortable position, more current hardware was less of a concern to me than the fear instilled from rumors of lower production standards in the 61.

They're both cheap and do the same stuff though, everyone should have one or other if they can afford it.

If I'd heard that rumour I would have gone for the t60 too! But certainly, after a thorough investigation, nothing I can see indicates any lack of sturdiness. I'm using it for everything since I'm having to save on electricity. (That's why I purchased it)

I'm not sure how well grounded in reality the claims are, but the people bringing it up seemed well informed enough that I took their word for it when making the purchase.

I would have had no problems getting the 61 over newer models if that was all that was in stock at the time though. Either is a steal for the price, lacks a webcam which is a huge hassle to find on newer anything, has a keyboard that isn't physically painful to use, a working trackpad, and the patented thinkpad clit.

Power savings is another reason I bought it, though that's more of a future concern for me than a present one. My PC costs upwards of $50 a month just to run, not something I care to pay for regularly on a shoestring budget.

yeah my computer costs a hell of a lot too, and I decided that it's absolutely not worth running it since I don't even game anymore. I've had to go days without any electricity in the house because I messed up and had that computer on too long. Additionally it's just too noisy. It's just wasteful to have all that for browsing a PHP board and watching some videos.

Oh and yes! the trackpoint is wonderful to use. They needn't even have bothered including the trackpad at all.

I am aware that since lenovo took over the quality of the thinkpad series has declined in general, but honestly I can't fault them with this particular laptop. It's definitely solid. And I'm not the type to chuck my electronics at walls unlike some angsty little bitches. I don't think there'll be a problem. I have spoken with a family member quite recently who owns a very new lenovo thinkpad, and that is utter trash. The keys popped of the keyboard in a matter of weeks, the finish scraped off the palm-rest, the plastic of the casing is extremely thin and the whole thing looks bendy.

>> No.9740025

>>9740004
It's good to know you're happy with it, since by the time mine dies, the 61 may be all I'm still able to scrape up.

>Oh and yes! the trackpoint is wonderful to use. They needn't even have bothered including the trackpad at all.
I totally agree, does the 61 have the second set of mouse buttons higher up for use with the clit nub as well? Makes the trackpad completely obsolete since you'll have your had that low if so.

What OS do you run on it, by the way?

>> No.9740098

>>9740025
It does have those buttons, to my delight of course!

As soon as I get to somewhere with free broadband to leech, I'll be downloading the newest debian testing release and I'll put that on, but at the moment I only had an XP disc lying about, so that's what's on here.

Since you asked, let me pose the same question, what have you got on your t60?

I'd hope that by the time a t series dies of normal use, many of today's higher end laptops will be as affordable anyway!

Out of curiosity, you seem to be hinting that in the near future you will be in a worse financial position, are you going full NEET?

Ah, that's great to hear. Whoever dreamed those things up deserves a drink and a trophy or something.

>Since you asked, let me pose the same question, what have you got on your t60?
Funny enough the same exact situation you're in. Though I don't know about being on the exact cutting edge, but I do plan on grabbing a newer debian release when I get the chance, until then I'm stuck with xp since the ubuntu disk I had was in pretty bad shape and basically unreadable.

>I'd hope that by the time a t series dies of normal use, many of today's higher end laptops will be as affordable anyway!
I'm not so fond of what's on the market nowadays. The physical quality just doesn't match up. I'll try and frankenstein one of these older thinkpads long after it becomes financially reasonable to do so if something better doesn't come out by then. Though these things do last, even if international travel is less than kind to them, which is what I'm worried will be the death of mine.

Thinking about it, it may be an idea to buy a replacement now while the market still has them cheaply, if for nothing else, parts.

>Out of curiosity, you seem to be hinting that in the near future you will be in a worse financial position, are you going full NEET?
Already full NEET, but soon to be solo full NEETing. But I did hear about an area nearby with low rent and free low quality broadband for all residents, so it might not be as bad as I originally thought.

I don't want to turn this into yet another metathread, but could we perhaps make a thread sometime to discuss these threads?

And yes, I'm fully aware of the irony of that very sentence. But do listen. It's just that I feel these threads should be exactly what this particular OP said it was for - NEET lifestyle. Keyword is lifestyle. See, some of us have jobs, but are still full /jp/sies. We do not watch reality TV, browse facebook and do the various things that normals do. We work for pathetic pay, come home and browse /jp/, and then maybe sleep. Rinse and repeat. Employment does not change the neurotic nature of the person. One can still enjoy and even live for the things commonly seen in these threads(living habits included) while still being in employment. Being employed really isn't as big as a deal as you guys make it out to be.
Right, so before getting into a useless rant, I will ask the essential question: why base it for all /jp/sies to browse these threads on the lifestyle they live rather than their employment and education status? Because not only has the elitism is reaching a boiling point, but we are missing out on each other's company.

Here's a NEET tip for all you /jp/sies out there!

When you're pissing in a bottle, generally you will try to let up as the urine reaches to top so you can avoid spilling. But next time nature calls, instead try INCREASING the intensity of your piss as it reaches the top of the bottle.

The pee will explode out of the top like a volcano! It really is a sight to see. Not only that, but the sensation on your dick is like glopping a liter of semen into an eager vagina (or butthole) and having the excess shoot out around your member. You can easily get a stiffy just from this! Now you can finally know how all those eroge protagonists and their hyper semen output really feel.

I can assure you that for these reasons and more it is worth the few seconds it takes to clean up the mess. You are selling yourself short if you don't try this at least once!

Are you a normal or something? Have you never thought how much time people waste in the bathroom in the course of their lives, all for the sake of keeping up appearances?

The point of pissing in a bottle isn't just to show that you're "edgy" and wallow in your own filth, it's a gesture that symbolizes that you have completely rejected the chains of hypocrisy and social conditioning that once bound you in unthinking obedience to power holders and monied interests.

My latest NEET plan is to find a way to attach electrodes to my Kegel Muscles (basically the ones in your perineum, between your balls and your asshole, that control urinary tract pressure) and try to get super-buff crotch muscles so I can get laser beam piss that can shoot through walls.

Then I will become a renown crime fighter, but I will do it as a freelancer so I can retain my NEET status and still join you all in these threads in secret.

I anticipate that the hardest part will be figuring out what the machine in question that I need is called, and then scrounging up the money to pay for it. On a NEET salary, this might be a bit of a hurdle, but I'd think it would be smooth sailing from there.

I know I've thought more than once about stealing bicycles and reselling them. I would steal them from the other side of town and wait a minimum of eight months before selling. I like the blues. They are much nicer than the reds for typing in my opinion. Very noticeable bump which is nice, without being too hard to push down.
I have never tried browns, but from what I understand the blues are a bit harder to push down and the bump is more noticeable. The sound doesn't bother me because I live by myself, but if your parents were around they might not appreciate it.

Yeah, that's what I've heard so far. The browns are pretty much like butter. Great for effortless typing, but sometimes lacking enough resistance for when you need to pound out something long. If anything, I'd call them the great compromise.

I actually liked the noise from my older model m which was lost during a move, so that won't be an issue in my case.

the last time I was outside was my last day of high school...about 4 years ago

I leave my room to go to the kitchen and get food and stuff or use the bathroom, that's about it.

I haven't been to the doctor's, no.

most of the reason I don't go outside is that I never quite achieved that moment as a child where you start going outside without your parents and stuff, and if I were to go outside even just to the store I'd probably get lost and die.

I'm gonna get kicked out soon though so that'll probably have to change or I'll die anyway.

There have always been two types of NEET. One seems genuinely happy and content living a life with a dim future and minimal social interactions.

The other is pretty much the opposite in that they long first and foremost for social interaction. Most everything in their life is governed by their desire for interaction. Following that they would like a promising future, which usually means worrying about entering schooling or training of some sort eventually in the future. Finally, they're discontent with the labels society has put on them and would like to change their lives for the "better".

Disgusting people, that second group. They really are the lowest of the low. Especially all the people here wanting to get a job, longing for friends outside and being depressed about their NEET lifestyle. Just die already if you are so sad about your NEET life.

You need to use a bleach and water mixture using a sponge if it comes off easily or a scrubbing brush if it is really stuck on there.

You may also want to invest in a dehumidifier to stop it happening again. Naturally you will want some goggles, rubber gloves and a mouth mask since you are dealing with bleach and some very irritated mould when you scrub it. Of course with all the bleach on your walls you are going to want to open your windows as those fumes are totally not good for you.

Maybe do one room at a time leave the windows open in there and close the door to that room until the fumes disappear. As you will not want to be in that room for a good couple of hours once you have done.

Although the fact your wall has mould on it suggests there is a deeper problem in the place you are staying and that moisture is getting through to the walls somehow.

That is really the only home version way of getting rid of mouldy walls unless you want to get a professional in

Hello neetfriends, anon from /co/ and /vg/ here. I was posting in a NEET thread on /g/ and thought of you. I've been out of school/work for the past 2 years, and it was only recently I realized that technically makes me a NEET. I needed to come here and learn my destiny.

I was just wondering what discussion went like in these threads, is this some kind of support group for NEETs or something? What kind of relation does /jp/ have to being a NEET? I realize this is an anime site, but still, as far as I know most of you don't live in Japan, so what kind of connection does NEET culture have to Japanese culture? It seems like a random thing.

Also, how does /jp/ use sage?

>> No.9747368

>>9747321
It seems "otaku culture" overlaps with NEET/hikikomori lifestyles somewhat, and it's also a semi-traditional thing. It's difficult to explain. What you'll find in these threads is mostly shitposting, blogging, advice-fishing and cheering each other up, with rare moments of wisdom and brilliance time to time.

We use sage the way it's meant to be used: to post without bumping a thread, for whatever reason you'd want to do that.

I suggest you lurk plenty before posting. Also, if you don't have any interest in "otaku culture," you should probably look elsewhere. /jp/ might have these threads, but the NEET lifestyle isn't our sole focus.

No, not really. Rehabilitation talk is discouraged here. These threads are about enjoying and maintaining NEET lifestyle, or at least they are supposed to be. Mentioning that you have a job or that you are eager to get one will automatically make you a worst kind of shitposter.

Use sage when you feel like it. I use it when I don't feel that my reply is important enough to bump the whole thread.

I do this sometimes, but it's a really stupid wish. You couldn't take it easy because of the doctor visits and discomfort a real illness would bring. Then you'd probably start regretting things you could've done in life, but now you know with certainty you'll never do. Try to remember this wish next time you have nausea or diarrhea, you'll realize how incredibly stupid it is.

If you wish to experience the kind of freedom something like terminal illness would give you, then set a firm date for a trip to gensokyo and see how that'll make you feel.

Stallman's wise words: The nominee is quoted as saying that if the choice of a sexual partner were protected by the Constitution, "prostitution, adultery, necrophilia, bestiality, possession of child pornography, and even incest and pedophilia" also would be. He is probably mistaken, legally--but that is unfortunate. All of these acts should be legal as long as no one is coerced. They are illegal only because of prejudice and narrowmindedness.

Some rules might be called for when these acts directly affect other people's interests. For incest, contraception could be mandatory to avoid risk of inbreeding. For prostitution, a license should be required to ensure prostitutes get regular medical check-ups, and they should have training and support in insisting on use of condoms. This will be an advance in public health, compared with the situation today.

For necrophilia, it might be necessary to ask the next of kin for permission if the decedent's will did not authorize it. Necrophilia would be my second choice for what should be done with my corpse, the first being scientific or medical use. Once my dead body is no longer of any use to me, it may as well be of some use to someone. Besides, I often enjoy rhinophytonecrophilia (nasal sex with dead plants).

Does anyone else do the NEET dance?

Sometimes I'll take a step back and look at my life and it's just so good that I have to dance. Getting money from the government every month and having no expenses since I live with my parents for free, bottles of recreational pills that I'm prescribed and get free of charge because of my parent's insurance, unlimited free time to do whatever I want.

It's so good that I get euphoric from thinking about. I can get so happy when I think about it that I NEET dance for nearly an hour straight. I just gotta put on a song like this and start groovin.
