You're giving up, aren't you? You told me you'd be #1! Never give up!

Of course not. I'm not one to give up this easily.
Thank you for the words of encouragement.

I never said I wanted to be number 1. I'd settle for top 10 or even number 11.

Had a really bad day today. Yeah, I think today is the day in which I give up. Nice timing OP, I laughed when I opened up /jp/ and your thread was at the top, as if I were meant to post in it..

Why all kinds of encouragement sound so cliche to me? Every quote, every thing they say at anti-suicide groups sounds incredibly cliche and meaningless to me.

Is it just me being pessimistic or people don't really give a fuck about others enough to give honest encouragement?

This kind of encouragement never works.

My imaginary friend started crying uncontrollably whenever I wouldn't listen to her.
That was the only way I could start getting stuff done. Made me feel like a piece of shit whenever she started crying.

>people don't really give a fuck about others enough to give honest encouragement?

It's this. Faux encouragement is just insulting, they don't believe in you, they just pity you.

I feel the same way, messages often seem genericised and impersonal, addressed at everyone and no one in particular. The message could be authored with all the sincerity in the world, but that's disconnected from my experience, it's just a trite message to me. The author is just an armchair observer and no relation or friendship or kinship is formed; it'd be better talking to people who don't think they're "healthy" and I'm "sick".

the messages might work better if such messages felt actionable, as for many things. If I did anything towards my happiness or welfare I'd feel better, but that seems pointless since I'm too dependent on others for little comforts (like financial help with medical care or eating out or ordering some sundries with the remainder of my SSI) and doing so would be going against the grain.

have a remiflan though, I hope it cheers up someone other than me a bit

>> No.9634825

It's just filler for the things in life with no real solution.
They're then repeated endlessly to the point where even the people who might mean it,sound hollow.

Kind of like when people tell you to have a nice day, very few could give a damn one way or the other how your day goes, they're only doing it as a ritual to establish neither of you are inclined to brutally murder one another.
