The only thing I'll give them is that I think Marisa's voice fits well. She's supposed to sound boyish, but it wasn't going too far.

Anyway, was I the only one who got the impression, more than once, that they were stalling the thing? There was a lot of moments where nothing was happening but it kept on going slowly unnecessarily, like when Marisa notices Alice in the library or when Eirin dispatches Reisen.

Also, I hope the way the sunflower field is appearing everywhere does not mean Yuuka will show up. I'd hate to have her tainted by this.

I was excited as hell after I saw the PV especially with Youmu vs Reisen part, only that it turned out to be a part of the opening and the rest was just fanwank, shipping wars and bad seiyuus blabbering.

What weirded me out about this scene was that Youmu was in charge of it. Yuyuko was in trouble, and was hoping that Youmu wouldn't be too angry.

In all the doujins I've read, this is not how their relationship works. It's usually Youmu being as good a servant/gardener as she can possibly be, while just sighing at her master's antics. Yuyuko was not accountable to Youmu in any way.

I didn't play Youmu/Yuyuko in IN. Which is closer to their relationship? This episode or the countless doujins?

Well, in some interpretations, Youmu is also Yuyuko's sword instructor, and Youmu is super serious about everything so if Yuyuko is portrayed as a silly tease Youmu can be flustered. They don't have quite a strict servant/master relationship the way some others do (Youmu is here out of family honor rather than being a pet or slave); it's not like bosses don't have to worry about making favored top employees angry.

Youmu has honor in the way knights in the middle ages had honor: they served their king, but not blindly. If their king asked of them something they considered dishonorable, they had no problem telling them how they felt about it (you can see this in old literature from that time).

Why is it so hard to find a rip of this in a not-so-shitty resolution or without subs? Since the day it was released, I only managed to find Chinese hard-subbed links and small resolution youtube/niconico link and that's it.

As for the episode itself, I thought it was great. Loved every second of it. Aya and Remi were my favorites here. The voice acting was pretty good and fitting, for the most part. The art and animation quality improved, but it still has the same charm the first one had. The only complaint I have is have is that they didn't use Touhou arranges for the music in this. But that didn't really stop me from enjoying it.

You should know better by know; the only acceptable videogame anime so far has been SFII the Movie and that was back in 1994, Street Fighter Victory was rather good too for a series.

I think Aoi Yuuki would have been a better Patchy in hindsight but they already had their Patchy I guess.
