Aren't there long pillows for sale? I never thought dakimakura needed a special kind of pillow. I don't know shit about nor own one, though.

They're p expensive over here too, just search for body pillows at a bed/bath store. It's rare finding the right size though and everything is in inches. Better to get one slightly larger than one smaller than your pillowcase, at least in tricot's case. They stretch.

Can't really tell you where to buy them locally, but I can tell you that Amiami sells them. Their shipping doesn't take that long, especially if you get it via EMS. One of mine is imported from D-stage, and is very soft and squishy. The other is from Amiami and is much more firm. Because of the shipping in dealing with D-stage/Yokatta, its like twice as expensive, and twice as long a wait or more, so I wouldn't really recommend it.

If you do get one locally, just make sure its the right dimensions for your cover, 50x150 or 50x160. Even if it says it's 50x150 or 50x160, double check with the vendor that the dimensions are accurate. I bought one off Amazon and it turned out to be way too short despite claiming to be 50x150, and didn't feel that great either.

I bought my pillow off of ebay. I think all standard dakimakura are 50x150 cm, which is too big for a lot of the body pillows at places like Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. I think you need to look for a 20x50 inch pillow, don't really remember exactly. I paid I think around $35 for mine. You can get them online at like HLJ or Ami Ami for the super soft squishy ones, but they are expensive and you have to pay the expensive shipping as well

How do you keep the cloth fibers from dying on your covers? I was told all I'd have to do is shave regularly, and trim my nails, but the fibers on the bottom of one of my covers where my legs go are dying regardless.

I always discounted cons as trash but I've never really been to one. I also discovered there are 2 in my state (didn't think there'd be any). I probably can't go to them this year, but once I get a vehicle I might go next year.

Thing is, I'm very worried it will be shit. These cons are in Oklahoma, so I doubt there will be many people, and they're probably all redditors.

As well, after reading the rules for the cons, I don't know if they're abnormally strict or if all cons are actually like this. Visitors cannot wear any revealing clothing, no weapons, no signs (not sure what the big deal is but they really stressed "NO SIGNS AT ALL!") and, the biggest thing, porn cannot be sold there at all.

There was a convention in town that I went to with my friends. It was pretty boring and there was nothing to do there, so we just did a scavenger hunt and got a t-shirt. We got some gyros then left. I have a bit of a weird case regarding that.

My waifu (or at least, the base appearance of her) is based on a character who was supposed to appear in a re-release of a VN. However, that re-release got cancelled, but there was already a dakimakura of said character several months before the news of it being cancelled had even appeared.

In one way, it's an exception to the idea of being so obscure there's no dakimakura at all, but I guess you could also say that it's not really a dakimakura of my waifu since her personality was based on my idea of how that character's personality would be, which could be totally wrong. Heck, there's barely any information about the character except a vague paragraph or two.

That said, maybe I am being stupid and what I feel is just lust instead of love, since her appearance is what I personally consider to be perfect, but now I spend all day pretending she lives with me.

Not a dakimakura really cause it's small. But I picked this up today in Japantown in San Francisco with young ace magazine for only 13$.

Walmart sells long pillows at like 12 bucks apiece. Honestly they are not bad but are a tiny bit too short so you have to fold up the bottom few inches of daki.

Only reason I'm going to a con soon is to get a piece of merchandise I own signed by a seiyuu from Dog Days

Going to a con should always be about your love of anime series, never about just wanting to go and be a cool bro hipster.

I also want some out of print merchandise but I doubt I'll find any.
