“No,” he said. “Look, it’s very, very simple…all I want…is a cup of tea. You are going to make one for me. Keep quiet and listen.” And he sat. He told the Nutri-Matic about India, he told it about China, he told it about Ceylon . He told it about broad leaves drying in the sun. He told it about silver teapots. He told it about summer afternoons on the lawn. He told it about putting in the milk before the tea so it wouldn’t get scalded. He even told it (briefly) about the history of the East India Company.
“So that’s it, is it?” said the Nutri-Matic when he had finished.
“Yes,” said Arthur, “that is what I want.”
“You want the taste of dried leaves in boiled water?”
“Er, yes. With milk.”
“Squirted out of a cow?”
“Well, in a manner of speaking I suppose…”

There are some girly coffee drinks. Cafe au lait comes to mind. I like to drink coffee milk too. It's best in the summer when you wake up sticky in a hot room and it's the first thing you drink. The coldness feels amazing and I swear you can almost feel it spreading through your body.

It feels different than tea though. Tea is much more suited to people sitting infront of a computer all day.

I'm drinking some of this right now, its my favorite. I don't have any of those little tea cups at home, and even if I did I'd pour myself a bunch at a time so it'd be pointless. Instead I get one of those extra large cups that are plastic, that they give you at fast food restaurants. I save those actually, no reason to throw away a perfectly good cup.
A big glass of cold water, add a few tablespoons of powder and some ice, mix, and I have myself a good tasty cup of lemony tea.

You guys don't have to use leaves anymore either, its not the 1800's, there is powdered tea now.

I have four teapots, three of them unglazed. One's for greens, one's for whites, one's for oolongs, and the glazed gets the other things, mostly tisanes and blacks. Two of the unglazed have obi-ami strainers, one has a sesame filter, and the unglazed has no filter, so I have to pour the tea through a tea strainer that sits on the cup.

Yes. I miss it.

My favorites are Pu-erh (sadly, all I can afford right now is the crummier bagged variety), Lapsang Souchong (but it's too hot for me to enjoy it right now), and Genmaicha.
Occasionally I'll drink some flavored green variant, like Jasmine green tea or Cherry Blossom green. They're good, but I've been making iced tea this summer and I don't think green tea is very good iced unless you add too much sugar to it.

Oh, and Mugicha is nice in the summer. I don't let it brew as long though; if it becomes too strong I can't drink it unless I water it down first.

When I first tried iced green tea, I didn't like it at all, even though I loved it warm. The second time I started to like it. Now, it's one of my favorite teas to drink cold.
