Is there some kind of secondary thing going on with idols too? Anzu isn't a NEET, none of her singles talk about her being a NEET. All Anzu does is try to take it easy. She goes to school because she has to, and she works cause she has to. Part of her character is the producer has to force her to do idol jobs, That's the joke. Not sure what you mean about secondary, but it is common in 3D idol fandom for the idols to have a "character" that they play, even if it's completely opposite of how they are in real life.

Example: When Yoshizawa Hitomi was still in Morning Musume, she had a "tomboy" gimmick. In real life, she's really feminine and likes to wear dresses, etc. but that was her character that she played on stage.

Idols have this whole manufactured personality to make them more moe because they know that 2D girls are superior and that 3D isn't moe, so they usually, like animu characters, play a gimmick up, like being the meganekko or whatever. Simple as that.
