She's an easy Stage 6 boss in a game that /jp/ has trouble 1ccing.

She has three legs now so she's a Yatagarasu. She become one when she was just a regular blackbird before.

The way I see it, the Yatagarasu was lying deep underground in some kind of dormant state, and Okuu showed up and assimilated it into herself.

I said this in the thread that disappeared, I'll say it again. Okuu is simply a living shrine, a place of god's residence. It is possible that she became an avatar like Shou, which would, judging from Shou's status, make her a god itself. Their SoPM descriptions are significantly different, though, so it's probably not the case.

Gods reside in every place that's connected to their domain of influence. If Yatagarasu is a god of nuclear reactions, he resides where nuclear reactions take place. Right now, he's inside Okuu because Okuu controls them, and she can do it because it's inside her. The interesting part is how this symbiosis got kickstarted.
There's probably some radioactive ore somewhere in the depths of the underground, and Kanako lured Okuu next to it.
