Are you prepared for the possibility of a zombie outbreak, /jp/?

Maybe it won't happen within our lifetime, but you never know. Do you have any plans? What would you do if the zombies were clawing at your door right now? Do you have anything to defend yourself with?

/jp/ would be like Kondo Tatsumi in a zombie apocalypse.

>Tatsumi was an otaku who had spent the early months of the Great Panic online, feverishly gathering information as his way of escaping reality. One day Tatsumi awoke to find that his parents were missing, the power was out, and he couldn't connect to the internet. His subsequent mental breakdown was heard by several ghouls who then tried to get into his apartment. Tatsumi survived by creating a rope out of sheets and moving from one floor to another from the outside balconies. He eventually made his way into the apartment of an elderly (and now reanimated) neighbor and found a WWII officer's katana in an old foot locker, with which he managed to escape the city.

I'm not worried about the zombies at all, it's the humans that are the real threat.

If humans aren't comfortable, happy, and well fed then they become evil very quickly. Zombies are the least of our worries when the streets will be filled with human stampedes, looters, rioters, sociopaths that are jumping at the chance to kill people without repercussion, and then eventually cannibals, organized bandit groups, and trigger happy survivors who will shoot on sight.

I can easily handle the zombies, at least if they're slow movers, but I'm much more scared of the humans.

First we were beset by badgers.
Then by badger corpses
Then by badger corpses and the corpses of the dogs we brought
Then by the heads of the badgers and dogs
And then by the hairs of the horse someone brought that we butchered so it wouldn't turn into a zombie.

Everyone kept cancelling fucking EVERYTHING until they began throwing tantrums.

I live in the country and there's huge amounts of open fields stretching in all directions from my house. I'd see the zombies well before they get any where near my house. I could just sit on my roof and pick them off as they approach.

I'm sure glad that I don't live in a city. Anyone who lives in a city or suburb during a zombie event is pretty much screwed.

What is the point of melee weapons when fighting zombies? You always see it in the movies, but I don't understand.

If have an axe and you split a zombie's skull right down the middle then all of the infected blood is going to splash back on you, a little will probably get in your eye or maybe in your mouth and that tiny amount will be enough to get into your bloodstream and infect you as well.

The only safe way to kill a zombie is from very far away.

>> No.9211105

>>9211092
Infection zombies are stupid. Zombies were better when it was "if you die, you become a zombie" no exceptions.

Also blood is not going to get into your bloodstream from it getting into your mouth. That's like the hardest way to catch anything ever. Except meningitis or something.

Also ranged weapons depend on ammo. Ammo is not infinite.

>> No.9211112

First thing I would do is liberate an orphanage and gather up all the cute girls that are dumb enough to think I could protect them and then we would walk off into the forest and I would become Warlord Daniel. Arrows are pretty much infinite though. You can always pretty easily craft your own arrows using lumber, but bullets are much more complicated and guns are so loud that it's dangerous to use them anyway. Could attract a horde, but a bow is lethal and silent.

I don't know what kind of dumb excuse modern movies use, but I wonder why they rarely eat other zombies.

Best tier: Vampire thrall zombies
High tier: Kyonshii
Medium tier: Vodoo style zombies, immortal type zombies(3x3 eyes, kore zombie)
Low Tier: Brain eating undead, infected/mutated undead/dying
Shit tier: Insane living humans

First and foremost my duty is to Japan and the Japanese people.

My first first order of business would be to raid an abandoned military outpost, load up a truck with as many heavy firearms and ammunition that I could gather, and then fight my way to the nearest airport so I could commandeer one of the abandoned planes.

After loading the small plane with the ammunition I would then begin my flight to Japan and most likely land in a rural area of Japan and set up a small base of operations. I would recruit the aid of any proud Japanese men who would be willing to work under a gaijin and I would equip them with the American assault rifles which their country does not allow them to own. We would then seek out an abandoned American or JSDF outpost so that we could acquire vehicles and begin our siege on the various infected cities and towns that have fallen to the undead scourge.

Japan will not fall while I still draw breath.

I think my only chance of survival against a zombie outbreak would be to find some organized to group to join.

Barricading in your house isn't a great idea in the long term. Unless you're expecting rescue anytime soon, you'll run out of food and water sooner or later. That being said my house woul be pretty much impossible to breach by a zombie if they were the slowpoke kind, but it would be pretty hearing them costantly scratching at my door and my shutters.

An organized group supposedly has people who can drive trucks and knows how to use weapons and can teach to others. You just need to make sure they aren't pussies and they won't think twice about killing the idiot that get bitten. Well that might happen to you, but if it happens you're screwed anyway.

Annyeonghaseyo /jp/, my name is Kim Ken.

I'm a 27 year old American fan of Korean culture. I draw Animune and Maunnga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Korean games. (Starcraft, Starcraft 2)

I train with my hwal every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my archery license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Korean fluently, both Pyojuneo and the Gyeonggi dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Korean history and their Confucian code, which I follow 100%

When I get my Korean visa, I am moving to Seoul to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a game designer for Blizzard!

I own several hanbok, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Korea, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Korean as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Wish me luck in Korea!

Most people in zombie movies are fucking stupid. I honestly believe that a semi-intelligent person would be able to get by almost without any change to his life-style.
It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what makes the zombies take note of you / regard you as food, and to avoid that. Most non-superpowered zombies would also be very easily outmaneuvered with simple tools like chairs (which might actually make a decent anti zombie weapon if you think about it - just catch their head between the chair's legs hold the zombies arms by his wrists (of course while wearing work gloves), then spin around your own axis and use centrifugal force to throw the zombie through the next window (or another zombie).

I explicitely excluded super-powered zombies.
With those you would either have to rely on their inability to get past simple barriers (like fences, because they are too dumb to climb) - though that likely wouldn't work because most of these super-zombies are depicted in capable of even crawling up walls etc, so having anything stop them for a prolonged amount of time would rely heavily on plot armor.

The only other thing left would be trying to figure out what would make them not attack you. (for example feeding them other humans)

I think as a comic book geek I'm more rhetorically prepared than most but when push comes to shove I'm screwed. I could do consultation work during a zombie apocalypse but nothing particularly practical.

I had an interesting conversation about bath salts yesterday and that the reason we have seen such violent outbreaks recently is the pervasive influence of zombies in entertainment. Somehow our collective obsession with zombies in the media has seeped into the public subconscious, triggering the kind of hallucinations recently seen in Miami under the influence of psychedelics.

I think when someone is coming at you with the intent of eating your fucking brains, you're probably up shit creek without a paddle. Most people couldn't think on their feet to defend against this kind of thing.
