I can't speak for anyone else, but I like her because of her cool design and the neat hints at her backstory. A ghost-wizard is just kind of neat to me. Plus she has ties to Marisa, so it's fun thinking about what their relationship must be like

I just wish she'd get a little more fleshed out, but ZUN is pretty set on burying every non-Yuka PC98 character in an unmarked grave..

It's a really fun game and I like a lot of the music. Eternal Shrine Maiden, Magic Mirror, Blade of Banishment, Now, Until the Moment You Die, Oriental Lesson, and Swordsman of a Distant Star are some of my favorite songs from the game

They really don't get many remixes, which is a huge shame

Konngara's design is pretty cool. I actually made a character who worshiped a god based on her in a fantasy medieval Japan P&P game I played. The character was involved with a cult who tried to take on their diety's appearance so as to spread her faith and her word. Pretty standard "god loses power cuz nofaiths, gets worshipers to get more faith" type stuff

Marisa was always a mischievous thing, getting into trouble. She caught Mima's eye because of her inner power and knack for adapting magic quickly. So she took Marisa in and attempted to raise her as a tool for her revenge. Until she met Reimu. Instead of filling her with hate Marisa instead learned to love, and enjoys befriending humans, and even yokai.

Mima is displeased but not enough to abandon her. She still feels pride and boasts about her pupil, since she raised her, but would've prefer things went as she planned.

OH CRAP. Hold on, I've got a theory forming...

Mima was the first Hakurei miko. The Hakurei shrine, at the time, did not have a god. One of Mima's children, if she had any, was slated to become the next miko. But said child decided that you can't have a shrine without a god, so she killed her own mother in some sort of ritual and bound her soul to the shrine, so that she'd become the god.
But it backfired. Mima became an evil spirit, hell-bent on revenge, and began to attack the shrine. But she couldn't bring herself to kill her own child, so she swore revenge on her bloodline instead.
Over the centuries, she was sealed away or repelled from the shrine many times (during one of these periods of time, she met Marisa and taught her magic), until Reimu came along.
Mima saw something in Reimu that made her eventually made her let go of her grudge. But what it was is still a mystery.

What I always do is position myself just a little off-center of the stage and use bullet spam to punch through the waves of bullets. Eventually you get small openings to control the orb

It's really hard, but honestly when I 1cc HRtP I just power my way through that first spell, letting myself die and just concentrating on bashing her with the orb as many times as possible to get to the next one. It's her hardest spell card, no doubt
