What's a ``decent 2hu thread''? This isn't satire, I genuinely don't get what you're complaining about. We've had threads discussing canon, cracking jokes, posting porn, and being downright silly. Everything from the most intelligent, high-brow discussions you can get about a little girl game, right down to bottom of the barrel ironic shitposting, and everything in between. And that was just today.

Make those threads then. Right now there are character discussions (both brainless image dumps and discussion/debate), a couple of threads about the games, a couple of threads about fan games, a few threads about the music, and a thread about PC-98 canon.

What do you want to discuss? Canon? Setting? Characters? Books? Bullet patterns? We have threads about all of them every single day.

Eh, 2 small threads aren't really a good depiction of the board. I think I've talked a little on that PC98 thread, and on that Kanako thread. But yeah, the day has been pretty shitty. I think I have one thread up right now, but it's not really that good either. My threads are usually touhou discussion threads, and they get something like 60 replies before dying down. So far, /jp/ has been bad over the months. I think January was kind of good, and february after the whole Katawa Shoujo shit wasn't really bad. The SoPM and TGA stickies generated very good discussion, but aside of that... These 6 months have been bad for /jp/. Although they weren't as bad as 2011.

Fact is, even though we have /c/ and whatnot, people are going to dump images on an imageboard. We're not quite at iiChan's level, but people do enjoy sharing and saving images. Try a more discussion-oriented board like Pooshlmer if you don't like how 4chan works. Frankly I'm fine with it, and if I post some sufficiently interesting text in a character image dump thread then people respond to me.

Well, you can just create a on-topic thread (this concept varies, I know). Why don't you go on and talk about a VN, a LN, a doujin game, etc.? It's not that hard. You can also talk about NEET lifestyle, although I'm not very fond of this topic so I can't really help. Last time I tried to create a thread about a doujin game, no one knew what was the doujin game and my thread had 0 discussion. I could try to create a doujin game thread, it would be interesting. But then I would make a post and wait for more discussion to come in. A hopeless attempt, indeed.
