gg. First time playing, if you couldn't already tell. Two quick questions: can you block in the air? What's the point of using the shield if I get hit immediately after using it anyway?

>> No.908519

>>908324
Air to Air I think miyako's stronger, but tohno's j.a is also very effective. Her main strength is her weird crossovers and ability to hit high multiple times. On the ground Tohno is probably better, but Miyako has a really effective 2c at a certain sweet spot (out of 2a range but within 2c range). I was really getting nailed by tech punishes though. You should just continue blocking after Tohno's blockstring, because I hit you with his 236b ender way too many times, or try to dodge and punish, but that isn't recommended, since immediate cancelling into it will hit you first. In general though, I think you have a pretty solid miyako, but I'm no expert. Have you tried jump-in jc (jb) airdash jc jb for 3-4 high hits? I think that would work well for a high-low mixup, given her floaty airdash. I'm willing to bet she has a fuzzy guard setup, too. I'm not sure how effective her 623 high/low option is, but you don't seem to be fond of it.

with your 236b, i was weighing damage versus opportunity. Unless you caught me clean with it in the corner, it felt like i could take the hit for better positioning. maybe i'm wrong though, will have to watch the replays. Corner pressure, i tend to iad.cb so the j.c ad.c isn't an option unless i take the time to do a sj. As for 623b, I enjoy using it but you've always been on top of poking out of it in the past, so i stayed away from it and tried to work with 22a/2c/iad.c instead.

Any button can be used for damage reduction, but the leeway is very short. Before somebody asks about how much damage is reduced, testing with Nanaya 5A against Tohno, I got a reduction of 90, from 299 to 209. With Nanaya's 5C, I got a reduction of from 1144 to 800. EX-Shield while in blood heat. For Arc, Kouma, Ciel and Len, you have to be in the air, and for Sion's, you have to be crouching. For the other characters, you only need to be on the ground.

- Hold 2 as Kohaku for a long time.
- Ex shields can be cancelled into anything, but a held shield can only be cancelled into command moves or another shield
- Nanaya's blood head arc drive can be dodged (2Q) when the FPS moves from ~20 to ~60 (when the slash animation/screen movement occurs)
- Nero's AD is unblockable, but easiy dodged or jumped over
- Tohno's AD is unblockable in the beginning, but can be jumped over on reaction. It's blockable near the end of the animation.
- Akiha's Arc Drive (grab) can be escaped by using Nero's forward dash on reaction
- Ciel's 236c (ex halo) can punish ground techs from anywhere on the screen (almost all of the time)
etc

Yeah, it was fun. One of the better Miyakos I've played. A little surprised that my Akiha and Len both did about as well against you since my Len tends to be quite a bit better usually.

Then again, I haven't played for about 2 weeks.

That's probably because i can't combo either of them normally if they're squatting. ARGH WHY DOES 2B SUCK SO HARD AGAINST THEM BUT IS SO AWESOME AGAINST EVERYONE ELSE.

50's enough.

And I'd like to think it was a lot more even than the 39-11 record would indicate. At least with the people I remembered how to use. God, my Kohaku was sinfully shitty.
