Stem cell technology will allow the creation of any tissue you want. New bones for example, which are nearly all-deciding of attractiveness. Skin can be repaired, or even grown all-new. And fat would be as malleable as clay.

Somatic gene transfer will allow any traits desired in the new tissue, since it could be grown from a single stem cell. Since you would only be dealing with one cell, it'll be just as easy as pre-natal gene transfer.

The surgery will be preformed by auto-surgeons, robots that would microscopically burn away old tissue and then replace it with new cells.

The end result is that you would have total control of what your body looked like.

We can already do it in mice. The main obstacle is that experimenting on people is illegal, even consenting people.

Currently they're doing exactly what I'm talking about on a small scale, replacing tracheas and bladders. Soon, they'll start growing breast tissue and new penises.

It's probably not farther then 25 years.

The stem cell stuff would probably be similar in cost to current plastic surgery, or tens of thousands of dollars. People finance stuff like that all the time, even plastic surgery believe it or not.

Getting a robot body, I don't know. Governments probably don't want people running around with the strength of elephants and capable of enduring RPGs.

How disgusting. No matter how you change your body, if you were ugly and gross to begin with, you'll only produce ugly and gross children. Why should you give ugly people more of a chance to lie about their genes and create this weak and disgusting race hidden under surgical beauty?

The genes contained in their sperm and eggs would be the modified ones, not the old ones. This would be so since the genes in the testes/ova were the new ones.

I often imagine of roboticists brainstorming the perfect cyborg and unwittingly coming to the conclusion the organic system is perfect.

5'8" and around 142-152 lb

I am average with average NEET body type. I dont eat a lot but I dont do a lot either which mean a lot of muscle deterioration occurs. If I were to go by that /fit/ body type chart I would be skinny fat but I dont even look like the skinny fat that was used for the example.

I have horrible acne on my face and I am noticing acne scarring because of it so any chance of attractive is out the window for me. I have long hair and very pale skin.

Carbon doesn't rust, and carbon nanotubes are not only stronger proportionately then biological muscle, they're also far more resistant to degradation from use.

Also, the robots we're putting our brains in will have a cell-like structure that repairs just like biological cells. The only difference is that the carbon nanotube cells will be far, far more resilient to biological cells.

>> No.9057384

>>9057207

The tissue will be printed in a bioprinter and then implanted or attached. The bioprinter will work on the level of individual cells. If you printed an arm, it would be a full arm.

In the same way we can attach a transplant hand to someone and have them feel it, we'll be able to attach a bioprinted hand and have them feel it. Better in fact, since you could repair any nerve tissue that didn't heal naturally.
