I see your point. However if they allowed normal Touhou cosplay then any Japanese game/animation cosplay would be allowed to be posted. /jp/ is the only place most anon post about kigurumi. It isn't posted on /cgl/ although I've seen some good discussion there when it has been attempted. Most of the people who post to the threads are performers from the community anyways. I don't see why it would be a issue moving it over to /cgl/ but that's my personal view.

There's been a troubling trend lately. It's no wonder why a lot of Japanese makers are very discriminatory to whom they sell. A lot of wyus customers seem incapable of grasping concepts of aesthetics and presentation.

It's good that she made that wig-care tutorial, but the people who put so little effort in are a concern, especially when they don't seem to realize it. It took one guy 6 months just to figure out how to look at the camera. I fear this trend will continue, and the ass-patting community will only make it worse. At least it's only like that on those forums.

If you have the talent and drive then it could certainly be a good idea. Kig masks are sold with an incredible markup because they're handcrafted, luxury items with a high barrier to entry due to the material (FRP) and equipment necessary.

In my experience, the demand is small, but always present. There's always going to be people willing to drop in excess of $1000 on a well-made kigurumi mask, and that number has only increased over the years.

If you did plan on making a business out of it, your best bet is to start with "generic" masks. The vast proportion of labour is spent creating the initial mold for the mask: after you have that, it'll be easier, faster and cheaper to pump out masks.
