>Second, here’s what’s up:
> Arlen, our main translator, has been on leave for an indeterminate amount of time since February. That’s not new, he slips back and forth into the project as real life allows him to so it does not mean the project’s death. It does mean we’re stalled indefinitely though, so if anybody else wants to jump in and help us by translating some more stuff, by all means send us a message. As I said before, you don’t have to feel like you’re singing up to any herculean task or will be expected to follow any particular pace.

From the Mahoyo trial translator, regarding the full thing
>So, now to deal with Mahoyo. As I have previously said, I will be translating the game. Though work and other hobbies have slowed me down from even finishing it, rest assured, I will do it. Now, believe it or not, I’ve been listening to all of the criticisms I’ve found of my work, and I hear you guys. You want me to use already established fandom terms? Sure, I can work with that. The style will remain more or less the same however, since I’m still of the opinion that natural-sounding dialogue and narration is the most important thing. Honorifics and such are in, due to style guide requirements (see next paragraph).

>And yes, for those of you concerned, I will have an editor. As a matter of fact, I’ll be working with the guys at Amaterasu Translations to get this whole thing out the door. It’ll be my first time working with a team, but this entire thing has been a succession of firsts for me. Translating has been a learning process for me, and it’s the feedback that gets me to improve. With any luck, I’ll be doing this translation with a relatively relaxed but scheduled regimen, so we can all read it as soon as possible.

Translation is inherently an act of destruction. It's all there, in the theory. Read some Nabokov.

You see, Eric has attempted to personally co-opt the business of translation into his self-operated machine, expediting the death of the whole animal. I'm in no disagreement with any sensible person on the root matter: We all know the scene needs to die. What I am critical of is Ixrec's shameful maneuvering to take credit for the long, hard work of others. Moogy-heika-dono and our very good friend Peter Payne have been doing this with more devotion, for much longer. Honorable dovac (peace be upon him) finally pulled the only string he had to give... The twilight is ending sooner than we thought, which is why we are seeing this pathetic battle for the glory. Who will take the blame in the end? The old axis of power, an upstart pretender like Ixrec, or seemingly deluded idealists like Cudder and Aaeru.
But will there even be any glory to steal? Will our world die a complacent death, unnoticed, will we be left longing for a hero like Gipface to return from the dead and end our misery? Or maybe we're already dead?

We're trying to update on a somewhat monthly basis to show that we aren't dead, and that it's active.

We found out a way to hack the text engine of the game, and fiddling with this, this is what we have hacked up. Keep in mind that this is in no way final and that we're still hacking it, which is why the whole script might be tossed around for another month as we decide how to approach this.

We're trying our best ;_;. Don't bash please.

If it was in June I would fly to france from spain just to meet him and get his autograph.
In may, that's impossible for me ;_;

Someone ought to go convince them to drop it. At least that way we aren't guaranteed a shitty translation of WA2 in 7 years.

Why don't Carpe Fulgur localize more games?

I think it's unfair that foreign concepts like lolikon are kept in games aimed at the English-speaking market.

That's kinda sad. IIRC, dovac gave them 90 days to relocate, didn't he?

>> No.9022251

>>9020696
It would be a shame to drop it silently now. Anyone worth his salt would at least look for an opportunity to stir up controversy before abandoning an outlet with as much potential as WA2.

Kindly keep your mitts off my replies (that is to say, replies to my comments, "first dibs" to which I think I am entitled much more than you), mouthbreather. Your argument is nonsensical, and worse, asyntactical. If you meant an attempt at parody, you've achieved nothing.

>>9021458
They're working just fine, unfortunately. Nice try, though. Maybe when the 90 days are up dovac's gift will keep on giving (if it has anything left to give... we'll see. I think--I hope--at least one or two archaic old sites on the subdomain might evaporate forever...)

Yeah, I can access them now. I was worried because I'm planning to put my little Parfait & Keyorina PS2 hacking project up there when/if I finish it (both of them are built on the same engine.)

That said, is anyone here interested in reading PS2 versions of Parfait & Keyorina (using real PS2 or PCSX2), considering that both of them will soon have PC versions available?

You can make the same argument with users of Apple products. I'll let you try to figure out the rest from there.

>>9018734
You completely missed the point. I was not asking for your opinion on that discussion but simply why there is said discussion. It is a slightly rhetorical question.

>> No.9024545

Some speculated it was that. Also it's not like they're renaming it Swells, it was just a code name used for their poll. (Which was an intentionally bullshit poll created for the purpose of mocking Ixrec's poll that had just been fucked over something majorly by gg at the time.)
>>9024539
It was never revealed. Some speculated that it was Mashiro Iro Symphony, but it was sort of a "secret project" similar to what Aroduc did with Kamidori, so the actual name was never revealed.
