In the beta everyone has 1000AC (1AC probably = 1 yen when the game launches) from the start to use so you can do some stuff. But they have gacha, charging you to change the way your character looks, charging you if you want multiple characters, etc etc. which people don't really seem too keen about. You cant "win" much. They do sell scapedolls and grinders in packages though.

Most of the current scratch winning prizes are recolored variations of the same default costumes and additional stuff for the room.
You can also remodel yourself, partially for free, partially for AC. You cant tell what costs how much, because all prices in cbt mediated to 10 AC per operation.

The patch makes things fairly easy, story isn't translated, but most common menus and the like are.
Other then that most things can be figured out through trial and error.
You can also change your class using the class manager in the hub, so you really don't need more then one character unless you want to make a new model or race. But if you buy an extra slot to make a second character and end up deleting that character, you'll have to buy a new slot to make a new one. So be careful of that.

And in pso2 you can see what drops in gacha and what arent. If drop chances are true to release version, there are no super ultra rare drops either. The most annoying detriments for me are trade license, room license and one free character only.

The game pretty much consists of grinding missions, so ..depends on how you like it?

Also I've been wondering, do you have to pay anything to learn new special attacks and stuff? Like spells? (not class skills/talents).
Cause I'm at what looks like the upgrade window and every time I try to drag an attack to the quickbar it asks me if I am sure, but I can't see any cost or such.

judging on the second alpha, I might say that forest is very underwhelming experience, and amount of action fluctuates very often.

I had a multiparty in the forest boss mission, it was about 5-7 people and some npc companions. Its quite a mess, but we got hordes of monsters and Codes non-stop. Once we got two timed Code exterminate at the same time, one for killing 15 infected monsters, another for 15 wolves and armadillos. Code monsters don't have colored icons for nothing.

Sometimes party members get stolen, sometimes jets fall down, and you have to defend them, sometimes another npcs show up and you should aid them on extermination.
If you get "shift over" announcement, and a mid-boss might just pile up on the stack of your current missions out of nowhere.

Volcano was more hectic in that sense, because there are more invaders, and native monsters like lizardmen are much more vicious than rappies.

Lag is getting pretty damn bad.

There is a nurse cap and a maid headband in the Fun scratch. Not sure if there's anything else yet for costumes. Also you can get a shop counter for My Rooms in the same one, and some silly robot thing that says any text you'd like when someone walks near it.

And the City emergency map just opened. It seems to open for 1 hour so I'd recommend trying it asap.

I played a FOcast in the alpha, I couldn't outdamage one of the special timed bosses on my own even with fairly excellent evasion and care. Though that boss isn't in the CBT from what I've seen, and grouping is more fun than soloing.

Also you can change classes now, so starting FOcast isn't solely a quirk character.
