I have one of Okuu for the moment, and am going to acquire two more soon. At first I tried to keep her hidden, but my parents eventually discovered her and didn't seem to really care. I don't see much point in bringing her out in public. As far as our relationship goes, she is of course my waifu and we like to cuddle and just smile at each other. It's a pretty relieving feeling to just have her around when I'm feeling down so I take every opportunity to hold her close to me while we're in bed.

There are only two, really. The Slender Man for girls, and /x/-tan for boys (and probably *most* of the girls, actually).

It would be neat to see some Slender Man tentacles/appendages form part of the pillow design, if that's possible.

Are there any unusually-shaped dakimakura? You can get regular pillows and cushions in all sorts of crazy shapes.

If you don't want a lewd cover just have one drawn up that's not lewd.

Isn't that expensive? I know these sort of things are to begin with, but if I had artistic talent and I was drawing for one internet stranger I would expect a fair bit of money for it.

I think I would be too picky anyway. My interpretations of characters never seem to match existing art for them.

I've had several artists do it for me. Just find one you like (if language barriers, then find one you like who speaks something you do)and ask if they'll do a daki image for you.

They'll give you a yes or a no. If it's a yes, then they ask some basic information, like which character, what kind of art, what kind of pose, and how lewd you want it. After everything else is decided then you agree on a price, and wait for them to do their thing.

It's no big deal if a few of them say no, just look around until you find someone you like who will say yes. Most of the time if they draw those kinds of things anyway, it's very rare they will say no becuase of the subject matter, usually it's just that they don't want to invest the time into it.

Standard prices seem to be around $50-60.
The most I have ever paid not including a tip was $100, and that was only becuase I was super autismal about it. So it's nothing you'll need to nag your parents for a mortgage over or anything.

Don't worry about that too much. If you really enjoyed their work, or had some ridiculous exceptions and bothered with over exact hues or something, throw them an extra $20 or so. Basically just pay them what you think it was worth.

Obviously that's more important if you intend to use them again, becuase most people do remember a good tipper or those that don't.

Almost any artist with a little talent will do it for you though, as it's an easy sale for them. Just find someone you like, and send them an email about it.

If that's still too uncomfortable for you, just find someone who already draws dakis and ask them, you won't even register on their radar, let alone come off as strange.

I asked this before but didn't get any responses in a previous daki thread. Does anybody else have any dust problems with their covers? My room is very dusty and it collects between the fibers of my cover, making it very difficult to clean off, and it becomes very obvious on the dark parts of it. It won't even completely come out with one of those lint removal rollers, or after a full wash cycle.

I forgot to mention to you, and you may have already figured it out due to its price, but the material of the Okuu Daki I shared the link for is that of a cheaper material than most. In the description it's called "smooth knit", and I don't really have a clue how it compares to our komone ushio Okuu daki that feels so silky and smooth (God do I love it).

Another thing I think you might be interested in knowing, is another Okuu cover I came across that I am ordering along with it that I discovered just recently. It's made of a higher quality material obviously from the price, and it's done by one of my favorite artists of her, fujy, who is the same artist that drew this frequently posted adorable image of her. Can't say I've ever had dust problems before myself, the only problem I've had is with my stubble scratching the cover and roughening the smoothness of it. Only solution to that is to shave every night before I go to bed.

As for that cover, I love the hair and the third eye, I'll see if I can still get it later on in the year once all my figure preorders are out of the way.

I actually just discovered that it wasn't dust at all, as I found out just recently as I tried to remove it again. It's actually the fabric's thread's broken fibers that are poking through the surface, and it just looks like dust. I have no idea what could be causing that though, and I'm pretty frustrated that she's in this condition already when I've only had her for a couple of months now...

I remember seeing that cover on one of the boorus'. What bothers me even more though is the fact that her cloths are torn up, which I'm not much a fan of.

I've had a few broken fibers as well, I think it's due to the material being so soft, I assume the cheaper less silky materials will suffer less from this problem. Only advice I can recommend is keep your nails trimmed, shave before going to bed etc to reduce the amount of broken fibers you will get.

As for the cover like I said before no matter how hard I try I just can't understand the appeal in covers like that.

The amount of broken fibers I've got has gone down since I started taking care of myself, I sleep pretty light myself and my body hair doesn't damage the fibers so you should be fine. I found most of my fibers were damaged where I was resting my head on the pillow at night so I also changed from resting my head on the pillow and instead just have my head lying next to her.
