Remember little lost shrimpboat-chan from yesterday? She began loitering around the shipping lanes for a little more attention in hopes someone would pick her up, but now the coast guard plans to hail death upon her in the form of a cannon barrage! How could this happen? All she wanted was some affection, and now Shrimpboat-chan will die for being a dirty orphan? Truly, they are monsters.

What, is that somehow more than what all the other ships that were sunk during both world wars were carrying? Plus they don't use diesel, they use bunker fuel.

They'll pump the fuel before sinking the ship, you nooblord.

Look at the bright side, on the bottom of the ocean she will be the house and saviour of millions of creatures.
Her life will give birth and safety to many many families of fish and stuff.

Even if her final wish to be with the humans again was denied her life had meaning.

>> No.8806689

In before cannon fire enrages it's indomitable machine-spirit, and it sinks it's attackers via ramming.

But seriously. The CG is not aware of salvage tugs? It's obviously not going to sink, just tow it in.

Why the hell would they blow it up? It floated across the pacific; on it's own, without a crew, after being hit by a god damn tsunami.

How on earth did the ship get so rusty in such a short space of time? Do ships really get rusty that quickly?

>> No.8806769

She couldn't speak Shrimpboat chan, she didn't have any voice, but she was loyal.
To her commander, leading her into the vast ocean looking for riches.
To her crew, tending to her needs, cleaning her deck, oiling her engines.
To herself, always striving for perfection, somehow leading her commander to better, more rich seas, avoiding bad weather, keeping steady in the foulest of the storms.
But she couldn't see that coming, the huge wave that crushed into her. She felt the force of the impact, every bullon of her metal body screaming under the pressure, but she hold on, she couldn't disappoint her commander, her crew, she had to resist.
But with unrelenting force the sea crushed on her, again...
and again...
and again...
Until the coast was no more, her commander was no more, her crew was no more.
But she wasn't build like that Shrimpboat chan, she had character and a will of steel, so she moved on, crossing the seas, looking for her loved ones with hope in her heart.
And the joy she felt when she looked upon her sister, riding the waters aiming to her.
Soon her long voyage will end, and she will be once again reunited with her crew.
Soon she shall be polished again, in her old glory, ready to serve those who have cared for her all this time.
Soon, /jp/, soon.

I'm sure the Japanese Coast Guard has piles of any piece they could salvage off a shrimpboat.

Not doubting in the least. Just a bit confused that nobody decided to salvage it.
I guess the cost of the fuel oil and labor is more than the boat is worth.

The biggest issue is rust, once it takes root to that exent there's isn't much you can salvage.

Well if it sinks it would sit at the bottom of the ocean and become the home to hundreds of forms of life. Kind of ironic since this boat probably killed millions of other forms of life.

They sink her because she is a risk to actually working ships. As she is currently, she's a danger to any ships in the area. Her wreckage or parts could crash into other ships.
And they can't pull it to shore because these type of maneuvers are incredibly expensive and looking how the ship itself has no value, nobody is willing to do such a thing.

So no, they're not monsters.
