Personally I thought X5 was a solid game and I think it would have ultimately been received a little better if the series had actually fucking ended with it like Inafune wanted, but even if you highlight all of its faults it's not even in the same hemisphere of lol that X6 is.

I also don't take kindly to a X game with a horrible soundtrack, barring 3-4 good songs. Many years ago, when I first played X5 and fought the grizzly after an underwhelming train stage I fought my first boss battle...To bgm that felt like it belonged in early 80's porno.

Sure, X6 is tough, frustrating, poorly designed and requires trial-and-error gameplay. But X5 IS sloppier overall.
