my teeth are really messed up because i don't take proper care of them. i'm starting to now though. i even bought a water flosser. it works well so far and easier than using regular floss.

I had to get two molars extracted and now I'm getting like 20 cavities filled.

I brush and floss multiple times each day and yet it's always orange between my teeth. No amount of flossing seems to get rid of it. On another note, I've been spending an hour each day on skin care for over a year, and yet I still get hideous white heads. Additionally, I get 10-12 hours of sleep each night and yet I have extremely baggy, bloodshot eyes with visible veins inside of the bags. I used to brush my teeth at least twice a day and I would always get cavities, now I only brush them every other day and I haven't had a cavity since I decreased.

My teeth are one hell of a mess, probably amplified by how much coke I drink (easily at least 4 cans worth a day) and how little I brush (once ever 4-7 days). For a starter, they're all yellow. Not a single one of them is actually white. The major problem with my teeth though is receding gums. I've always brushed really hard, which was fine as my mom's always coincidentally bought soft toothbrushes. One day she replaced mine and didn't tell me it was really hard, so I practically shredded most of my gums enough that I can feel the roots. I can even see the roots on my bottom front teeth.

I've not been to a dentist since I was about 6 or something. I couldn't possibly go now even if I had perfect teeth.

Saddens me to see this, my dad didn't go to the dentist untill he was in his early teens. Despite of this, he had so many problems with his teeths that it still haunts him to this date. It costs him a fortune in the year just to keep them. So seriously, just take your time to brush them twice a day, your teeth are really fragile.

I have no idea how you even book an appointment, so I'd need to ask my mom, something I'd rather not do. I also don't know where this dentist is, and even if I did, I can't drive and haven't been on a bus in year (which I wouldn't be able to handle anyway due to anxiety). Then there's the actual dentist... I couldn't take such personal contact up close alone with someone I don't know.

To summarise, I'd need to ask my mom a favor to book the appointment and drive me there. I'm already asking her enough favors as it is being a worthless NEET who's never worked a day in his life. Meh, parents generally don't mind looking out for their kid's health. The real issue being that your teeth could deteriorate to the point where you have to get serious work done or suffer constant pain and it's easier for everyone if you can stop it before it gets there.

I brush once a day and I've never had any problems with my teeth ever - Nothing removed, no fillings, no braces and wisdom teeth are all straight and perfect. I go for a checkup once every 9 months (it used to be 6 but the dentist told me there was no point coming so often with my record) because it's free for neets in my country and cheap if I happen to have a job at the time.

One of my teeth was pretty much rotten through, so it was cleaned by a dentist and the hollow shell was filled.

But the entire side split off few months ago and is now loose, so I can't really use this side of my mouth to chew.

And a couple days ago a third of one tooth on the other side of my mouth just broke off. It hurt my gums and now they're bleeding even more than usual.

Listen to the OP, brush your teeths anons. I too underwent a root canal op for just one tooth, it was horrible. The entire procedure was painful as fuck especially when that fuck was trying to figure out which tooth needed to get worked on.

Didn't get a crown fit though as it was expensive as fuck and my job insurance didn't cover that procedure. Dentist said it would probably last for the rest of my life, as long as I don't bite hard stuff with that tooth and crack it.

The entire procedure is basically this.

To explain further the tooth is dead on the inside, root and tissues are rotten forming that green pool of crap at one of the roots.

Tooth gets drilled out, and motherfucker goes in there and scraps out all the dead rotting crap with a small hand drill, note even though your tooth is technically dead you will still feel some sensations as some nerve endings are probably still alive in there. Ranging from tingling to ohmygodfuckyouwhatareyoudoinginthere.

However the real uncomfortable shit is when the dentist is trying to pinpoint which tooth to drill out, remember that pimple pus? This is where that asshole comes in.

That green cesspit forming at one of the roots of your teeth sometimes surfaces on your gums as that pimple of pus, so the dentist sticks this flexible toothpick in that shit and pushes it all the way in following the route of the pus flow to the root of the guilty tooth. Once that's done the drilling starts proper.

I lived most of my life up until 18 y/o not giving my teeth proper care. Then I ended up having dental problems so bad that for one of my teeth, any longer before getting a filling would have required a root canal without question. That basically scared me shitless, so after that day I willed myself to stop drinking soda/any carbonated drink really, as well as brushing flossing and using mouth rinse at least once a day. It's been about 3 years now, nearing my 21st birthday, and the only problem I've had was a chip in one of my previous big fillings that had to get fixed. The main problem with my teeth are the way they've grown in. My mom apparently didn't think getting braces was a big enough deal so my teeth have basically ended up as a mouthful of knives. I'm constantly biting on the inside of my mouth with my canines and getting ulcers there, god forbid I bite one of the ulcers.
However I don't drink soda/smoke/eat many sweets so my lack of brushing isn't quite as pressing, or at least I hope.

Not something I've done, but I thought I'd share anyway. My dad recently used epoxy glue(fast hardening glue that seals pipes etc) on his teeth in an attempt to fix it with a mold. The instructions lists that it is highly toxic and you should not get it in contact with your skin or breathe in the strong fumes it emits. The room smells so fucking horrid now(we share a room) and I could not sleep.

Honestly, I went to the dentist late last year and I was incredibly embarrassed. I ended up having to get 7 cavities filled and I was embarrassed as fuck. I almost had more that were just bordering on being cavities but were still in the safe zone. Just go, you'll be very thankful that you did. I can tell you right now that they don't judge you at all. I even openly voiced how embarrassed I was about the state of my teeth, and the response I got was that they were there to help and make things better, not to judge. And honestly, they've probably seen a lot worse.
