Not really. KH1 was good, CoM was interesting, KH2 was some bad anime plot combined with flashy but not really that much more complex gameplay. I can't comment on the other spinoffs, but from a cursory glance they just seem like trying to milk the franchise for all its worth.

I would agree with this. I think FF12's failings stem from its long development time as well as Matsuno's leaving, which is a shame because Tactics and Vagrant Story were great. Regardless, 12 is probably one of the few games that got a 100+ hour game time in one playthrough from me.

I think it would be good business sense to ditch Nomura anyways. Westerners don't really take his designs seriously anymore. Although I did end up liking a few characters in XIII it wasn't really for their designs. Lightning was basically Cloud but with a vag00.

In TO PSP they had Tsubasa Masao from Metal Gear Solid and good ol' Yoshida. They would be fine substitutes for Nomura IMO.
