Yukari is strong, does that make people like her? No, books say nobody likes her and only Reimu can stand her.

Reimu is liked because ZUN has said that no Touhou is ever serious and she befriends everyone she beats up while solving incidents and makes parties where she gives free food to them.

She takes it easy the most, and she's the one who is bothered the most too, case in point, incidents, Yukari and the fairies.

I think Reimu's reputation of being bitchy mostly comes from the games, where basically all she does is pick fights with everyone she meets after making a few dry jokes. And thanks to the primary elitism movement, some people misunderstand and think that the games are the only canon source.

And most of the offcomings are because people just assume the ones she beats up are innocent bystanders, when they are in fact attempting to stop her advance into solving the incident i.e: going any further.

There's also the fact that not only is the chatter mostly filled with her sarcastic remarks, but that she befriends the ''filthy youkai'' right afterwards in the tea party.

Most notable example of her friendliness would be Reimu A's Good End in MoF.
