Arguably the most powerful martial arts in the entire world.

Not at all... the claymore is heavier than a standard longsword and less sharp, it resembles a contundent weapon in some ways. At last, You can say the Zweihander and the Claymore are practically the same weapon, but they don't work the same way.

For me I would pick.

Primary: Corsican(Window Spear). It can deflect most of the weapons with ease and kill with precise stabs. Also, if you're good (and all the side are sharpened) you can even decapitate your enemy. You can do this with a Halberd, but the halberd is heavy as fuck.

Secondary: Kukri. Because it's really sharp, usually doesn't weight too much and it's easy to use. Also I prefer my secondary weapon being a cutting one.

Reserve: Watermelon Bar. Because I'm hungry.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Shitwork Katana" bullshit that's going on in the d20 system right now. Bastard swords deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine bastard sword in Europe for 2,000,000 Euros (that's about $3,593,987.26) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut butter with my bastard sword, if it's heated.

European smiths spend minutes working on a single bastard sword and fold it up to a quadrillion times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.

Bastard swords are about four hundred times as sharp as katanas and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a katana can cut through, a bastard sword can cut through eventually. I'm pretty sure a bastard sword could easily bisect a samurai wearing wooden ceremonial armor with twelve or so simple vertical slashes.

I would gladly take the gladius if there was also a pilum.

Other than that, halberd/warhammer.

>> No.8409633

I'll stick with the dagger for back stabbing purposes. Fair fights are for chumps.

Well, its CAN be wielded one handed if the user is strong enough, unlike a two-handed sword, but it is usually two handed.

And the reach is shorter than a two-hander, though longer than a long sword. Really its down to preference, strength and if the sword fits the occasion

No sneaking. Just stab people who aren't expecting to get stabbed at and preferably have no weapon of their own. Think like a murderer, not a fancy assassin.

Yeah, unfortunately, real tank and anti-tank combat happens at the kilometer level. No running and running with the rocket Vespa (maybe in urban combat, though?)

Although I think the Germans had a magnetic mine in WWII that was primarily used by running up to a tank and sticking it on, then running for cover.

Dirk or dagger.

Why would I waste my life in a fight if I can just stealth kill everyone?
For an open fight I would choose a spear or a rapier, though.

No.

>>8404392
>You people mean Broadswords.
No we don't.

>Longswords are one-handed.
It's the exact opposite, longsword can be used one or two handed. Broadsword is another name for basked-hilt sword, they can only be used one handed.

>>8404447
>the claymore is heavier than a standard longsword and less sharp, it resembles a contundent weapon in some ways.
No, everything you said is wrong.
Depending on the period they were made they could be anything from a Oakeshott type XIV to XXII sword.
Claymore's aren't Bidenhanders, I don't even know why people would think that. Especially seeing how people used to wrongly believe that claymore was the Scottish Gaelic name of basket-hilt broadsword.

I don't even know why I'm responding after the thread died.

I'd choose two weapons: A main weapon and a side arm. My main weapon would be a glaive, as pole weapons are superior if you have the space. My side arm would be a mace, for ease-of-use (anyone can use a glorified club).
