What is it about labcoats that makes people look better?

No idea, I've never really been there.
Though it makes me sad that moot added a whole board for the Pokémon franchise when it could have just been one or two threads in /v/, yet Touhou had to be shoehorned into "Japan/General" despite the fact that it had threads in /a/, /v/, /tg/, and god knows where else.

Lab coats are actually quite stylish, what with the lapels and (usually) the wearing of shirt and tie. They'd resemble a long sport jacket if they weren't white.

One other cool thing is that microbiologists used to wear black lab coats because liquid stains showed up better on them. They use white coats now, but are again different in that they have the option of special short-sleeved lab coats (since usually you're wearing gloves/bsl gear and hence the cuffs on sleeves serve no point besides being a contaminant vector).
