>"Wh-What is this...?" Eirin was clearly shaken. She had shown composure without intending, meaning it was the moment Yukari had been waiting for to strike.
>Eirin could never forget the taste of that sake. The purity that was impossible to obtain on the impure Earth, and the deep flavor that came from its millenium-long slumber.
>"It must have been centuries since you left your hometown. I thought you were becoming distraught with homesickness, so I had some sake from the Lunar Capital prepared for you."
>Yukari grinned.
>That ominous smile left a deep scar in her mind, something she would never be able to forgot. To make those who cannot die question the meaning of living. To make them fear the unknown, what they cannot understand.
>That was the true intention behind Yukari's Second Lunar Invasion.

So the whole point of Bougetsushou was a "better don't fuck with me" message to Eirin?

Seriously, that last chapter made it seem like she almost pissed her panties.

Yuyuko took it because Yuyu wanted some anyway. They couldn't find anything else worthwhile to sneak off with.
When they showed it to Yukari, she said something along the implication of "This is even better than expected" because if they drank it all, they couldn't come get it back.

Here, have this interesting quote of Renko in Magical Astronomy because it seems related to Yukari and the moon people.

>“The elixir of life? Of course I’d use it. Do you know why in stories and such ageless immortality is portrayed as an emotionally painful thing? It was just a warning against everyone’s greed and rebellion against authority. But on the other hand, its mere existence has become a curse. Ageless immortality doesn’t mean that you don’t die, but rather that the boundary between life and death ceases to exist; it’s a state of neither living nor dying. Really, it’s just a realization of “necrophantasia”, a world that exists in the apparent world and in the world of the dead.”

What exactly did ZUN hint at with this? Perhaps that Yukari already achieved this state without even needing the elixir?

Granted, it's just wild guessing because of song names, but it would certainly give her a lot of reasons to mock or scare the lunarians.

Shouldn't even have anything to do with powerlevel bullshit. Maybe she got lucky and realized it randomly?

The elixir made an average human immortal as well. Assuming that Renko is correct about her theory then I'd imagine that the elixir is simply something that alters your mind for a short moment to realize that certain state and gain immortality. Would explain why there is no "cure" as well.

Did you never play IN? That's where it originally came from.

Most fanon fads start off based something in canon.

>> No.8228619

A problem with powerlevels is that people tend to take the little phrase that mentions a character's ability a bit too literal and meta, ZUN's stated some limitations beforehand (Spellcard draft in PMiSS, Keine's profile in IN) so you can't be sure what characters can fully do until you've seen it.

>> No.8228635

>>8228619
The spellcard draft is a limiter for their powers in duels, so whatever is seen in a spellcard could be assumed to be a weaker version than what they're capable of.

>>8228635
>so whatever is seen in a spellcard could be assumed to be a weaker version than what they're capable of.

Yes, but the abilities don't exactly relate to ''shooting bullets''. One's spellcards are a reflection of one's abilities as shown in the books, we don't really know much about how the characters do their real powers nor how much they can use it in the sense of the word, we can only base ourselves on what's written, and some Touhous get more description of their abilities than others that specifies things more so than one would assume from just reading the name of their ability, like Yukari and Reimu. Others like Keine get the inverse treatment and their abilities are shown to not be as concept-based as one may think (she can't really destroy history like people think, only hide it and create it).

True, another problem is that zun likes to write from the perspectives of various characters, so its difficult to tell if this is solid word from the author or character exaggeration. 8229511

After finally sitting down and cranking through CiLR, this whole thing was clearly a colossal "Fuck You" from Yukari to the Moonbitches, and Eirin in particular.

Its a psychological attack, stealing the sake and having Eirin drink it is an insult in itself, but the psychological warfare element is the fact that Eirin has absolutely no idea how Yukari got the sake.

And thats the critical element, "We can jack your shit and you cant stop us." might sound minor when its just a bottle of sake, but for a society completely obsessed with purity (And whose society depends on maintaining that purity) its a major blow. The moon is supposed to be perfect, and here's Yukari lording their flawed defense over them.
Zun deliberately states (Through Eirin in chapter 3) that probability states that anything with a nonzero probability is inevitable in the long run.

The reason Eirin shit herself at the end of CiLR is that she realized that whatever pretense of perfection the moon had is incomplete; an imperfect defense means that somewhere down the line, impurities will (And for all she knows, may already have) compromise the moon, leading to its downfall.

So yeah, its a gigantic fuck you to all the moonbitches superiority complex.

>Youki Konpaku, the former gardener, had been the one for about 300 years, but suddenly became a hermit after having made a very young Youmu his successor. Youmu's ability of swordsmanship has still been in progress, so she needs daily practice. Though Youmu herself has no clue where her master is, she thinks of her master's absence as a lesson from him.

It only say that her swordsmanship training wasn't finished by the time he left.

>Not proof, not proof,

You are saying any male ever did anything important? Give me a single example.

Half of the gods summoned in SSiB should be male, they were all girls. Suwako, Miko and many more characters should be male. It's an obvious proof that everybody important in touhou is a girl.

>> No.8230328

Has Youki even been mentioned in any kind of canon or was he created from a random ZUN comment or something?

Why don't you read for yourself and gain wisdom?

No I'm saying that lack of males doesn't prove they can't do magic. All it says is that ZUN likes girl characters. If he made a male final boss tomorrow it wouldn't contradict anything.

No proof, just such overwhelming statistical evidence that people assume it's true until proven otherwise.

Nope,
>All it says is that ZUN likes girl characters.

Stop trying to reify everything in Touhou. Many things have no explanation.

What ZUN likes dictates what Gensokyo is, so if ZUN decides against including any powerful males in Touhou Project, then they don't and won't and can't exist.

Maybe Remilia has a third sister in the attic that nobody ever talks about, but most people assume she doesn't.

Yet none of them ever did anything significant enough to be ever mentioned?

Even is Akyu's chronicles?

Look at Hijiris. Brother was a normal monk. He died. End of story. Meanwhile his sister became a powerful magician, lived for centuries and created her own faction.

I'm sorry that your brain doesn't work right. I'll let it go. Good luck in the future.

Didn't Ten Desires teach you guys anything?

1. Every powerful, interesting and relevant person in Gensokyo is female.
2. If a powerful, interesting and relevant male makes his way to Gensokyo, see point 1.

When suggesting that things never even touched on by the author are occurring within fictional works the burden of proof lies with you, not us. We don't need to prove that something that has never been observed in Touhou canon isn't there, you need to prove that it is.

There are no strong men in Gensokyo because those all go to Valhalla.
The males in Gensokyo are just the ones who were kicked out of Valhalla for being worthless.

It's sarcasm people, it's impossible to kill someone in a spellcard fight, especially humans, if you read all of the border team's IN dialogue you'd realize they're the snarkiest couple.

Nobody disagreed with that.

The point of the thread derailed to the previous Moonbitches one, where an anon claimed that Yukari could easily take down the sisters.

Fair enough. I never saw the previous thread, and while I think the the significance of stealing the sake is far greater than most people think, it is not the case that Yukari is suddenly able to take down the sisters.

Its a threat that the moon's power will not last forever, not that Yukari is suddenly gonna pop in and rape everybody without issue.
