I saw some threads about this game before with more details on the game but I think they died so you're going to have to check an archive.

I'm new to this 'Otaku' culture so I wanted to ask you guys where you get the latest news/updates on upcoming Japanese games/anime. You guys keep posting so much stuff, use jargon that flies over my head all the time. I'm watching Fushigi Yugi Mysterious Play atm, is that/was that considered mainstream?

I know I have a slow and old computer, but holy shit I don't think GoS is supposed to get that sluggish after twenty minutes of playing.

Nonetheless /jp/ tends to shift collective focus to specific games for a while. If you don't understand much about something in a thread it's probably because you don't play those games, otherwise they're obvious acronyms/phrases etc. You don't have to play them either if you don't want. However if you don't know the difference between say an eroge and nukige then yeah you're probably in over your head.

This game revolves around the Shikigami system. Each of your playable characters can equip three shikigamis and you can equip various attacks and spells to be used in battle. They also have passive bonuses. Shikigamis increase your character's stats and can also level up.

A lot of the mechanics from GoS return such as the land features in battle, slayer effects and chest finding.

That's actually pretty cute.
Some of the enemies worry me though. They seem very typical RPGish, not Touhou enough. Maybe it's because they're actually monsters instead of little girls.

Mostly Ghosts and fairies; sometimes magical artifacts depending on the game.

The only real monster looking ones are the Evil Eye enemies.

After stalling for WEEKS on this game due to how bummed out I was about wanting to use Satori ( I LOVE blue mages/hybrid characters) but how shitty the learn rates were on skills, I manned up earlier today and started playing while listening to some podcasts.

3 hours later I've learned the following skills:

Fire Arrow
Earth Javelin
Plasma Ball
Skewer
Flame
Demon Shock
Constrict
Star Blaze
Energy Bolt
Sweet Breath
Poison Mist

Fucking awesome. That short animation pause when Satori learns a new skill and the the text that follows is seriously the most satisfying thing ever.

Trying to learn Fire Breath atm before I move onto Serpent's Path. Love this game.

You could use Cheat Engine and edit your learning rate so it's actually reasonable.

That's what I did after I got late into the expansion, shit was really tedious at that point.
