What if in 2012 /a/ annd /jp/ were to merge?
Would this bring us back in time to when /a/ was good?

>> No.8171756

I don't see anyone screaming and throwing feces around in the /jp/ side. That picture is grossly mistaken if it's attempting to show current day /jp/. Somebody needs to be throwing shit at the wall and blaming /a/v/b/ for the shit they threw at the wall.

You're either blind or filtering everything that you don't like, which is literally everything.

>> No.8171776

Honestly I believe a good portion of /jp/ers would either leave 4chan or start to main other boards. Afterwards a good portion of the remaining population most likely already browses /a/ anyways so they wouldn't care. Whatever /jp/ers left from these two groups would be nowhere close enough to disrupt the chaos known as /a/ and would either conform to /a/'s mentality or go unnoticed.

The only time /a/ was good was before the first split, when it was still /b/.

And undoing that split now would be the single stupidest thing possible.

/jp/ used to be this way... like 2 years ago.

Now it's pretty much just a combination of /a/ and /b/.

Pretty much most of the people that follow board-etiquette have left for other boards... or they post on the Japanese internet.

The only reason I'm still around is because I cannot fluently into moon.

But I kind of miss being able to come back, after classes/work, and still see that Kanako or Parsee thread I started... or that discussion on the "nice" characters of Gensokyo.

Rule 2: Don't respond to trolls - If some guy posted something really stupid and provocative that made you angry and you want to kill him, don't respond to him. Don't even bother to tell him off while using sage; it's most likely a troll that just wants some replies. In /jp/, troll threads tend to be really easy to spot, so there's really no excuse for this. If too many people get baited, it will end up in a stupid 200 post long drama thread nobody wants to see in the first page.

Besides the friction between the userbases (and the comfort of the ones that main both boards since the start) the biggest challenge would be the sudden increase in speed. /a/ is already past critical mass, adding in our numbers, however small in comparison, would be a mistake. Could very well take it to /v/ levels of ephemerality.

Wouldn't save either board is my point. Would be nice to bring some change again to shake up our decaying ways though.

And be a drop on the rapids that is your board? It wouldn't work because we already tried. Well, some of us did, at least the ones that were fighting as the board went down and then jumped here, isolated and looking at you grow more and more normal and stupid.

You can't just undo more than 3 years of retardation with a few socially anxious posters. You people are used to the ways go now, with tripfags conversing and general threads that won't die. And your damned spambombs that try to shape the board but only makes everyone post even more threads.

There is no hope, there is nothing that we as simple users can do. Both our boards will continue to change into something we can't recognize and we better get used to that.

>Tripfags conversing and general threads that won't die.
You are generalizing. We got rid of our general threads a few months ago, and the 'tripfag conversing' thing exists on every board in 4chan, including /jp/. It seems that you've taken a few screencaps of circlejerk shenanigans and taken that as a representation of /a/ as a whole.
Not the guy you are responding to, just stating a fact. At least we are trying to improve ourselves.

I will grant you that, I was just saying that from my views from the last time I tried to stay there for an extended period of time.

It pleases me to hear those are no longer issues. How exactly did you manage to change that? Moderation support, massive spam, or just talking and expecting the others to understand and comply?
It baffles me, things only got worse with time when I was there. And even now the few incursions I take are interrupted by the disgusting sight that is accelespam.
