Fuck yes it is.

Also, is it possible to win with Mira? Like, physically possible? He does nothing, unless there's some gimmick with the powder balls that I don't understand.

Also, I'm not sure if Mira is a he or she, but in retrospect, all the rest of the characters are female, so maybe I should've guessed that.

So I need to post my encrypted IP to do netplay, right?
Encrypted IP - y?clHq

What I don't understand is why there's "User's Name" field in host's settings in network configuration. I don't see an option for inputting username within the game, so how is someone supposed to put my USer Name there to connect to me if I don't have one?

Eh, I'm hosting so use the second option in Entry Mode for Net-VS to connect to me once you set up netconfig.

So let's get some actual gameplay discussion going here. Who do you guys play? I started out with Nanoka and Saki, but lately I've been playing Mira because the game isn't challenging even on the highest difficulty with those two characters. I think I've figured out Mira, since you just have to turtle till you can summon your four options and spam the overpowered melee that covers 2/3 of the arena.

>> No.7743809

>>7743780
Iru & Hime were my favorites in the first, but Star Breaker is a new love in #2. Still loving Iru though. Tsih is pretty neat as well, but I can't help thinking her real name is Shit.

Still trying to find out how to unlock Sumika.

>> No.7743997

>>7743809
After further evaluation, Mira is fucking awesome. H + B, S + B, Hold B, S + B, Hold B, S + B, repeat ad infinitum, resummoning your options as necessary. It's basically an endless danmaku barrage of the highest priority bullets in the game mixed in with indirect fire knives and walls of pink bullet trails. Pretty much rapes every turtle character in the game since firing the options individually seems to go through everything. It even goes through Tsih's boulders, Iru's traps, charge shots, etc.

>> No.7744063

>>7743997

That sounds worrying. Since Kyoko is my main, I'd be so toast if all of her ice boulders got demolished in a constant barrage.

>> No.7744166

>>7743997
Yeah, that sounds really fucking broken. Luckily, I don't play a barrier-type character. A match between you and I would be fun to watch probably.

I play Nanako, bullet spam everywhere. Absolutely shit once people get close to her, unless you have the the 3-bubble special move ready. but I can do pretty well her. Also, if you do netplay and there's lag, most of her specials become a complete waste. They're incredibly slow, thus easy to dodge. The only useful one is the dash + SP

StarBreaker seems to be a ridiculously broken character. As far as I can tell, I don't know why anyone would NOT play her.

>> No.7744224

>>7744166
I haven't spent too much time with Star Breaker, but she can't be as bad as Saki with her infinite combo that will make you instalose the game if you ever eat a WB at the right range or if you ever eat one of her homing sun supers at almost any range.

>> No.7744222

anybody done netplay?

hows the lag in this compared to the prequel?

>> No.7744232

>>7744222
FInally got mine working. I never played the first one, but the lag is tolerable when playing against in Europeland (Amurrika-fag here).
Adjusting the "Delay" (last option for the host) to 2 or 3 frames helps a lot when playing with people far away. Set it to 2 with a friend in the US and there was hardly any lag at all.

>> No.7744250

>>7744166
The CPU is really dumb and doesn't really bother trying to avoid her delay bombs. Eating a cluster of those is almost instant death.

Never played the previous games and im trying to get into this one. Tried to setup with my pad using the pad config but it detects the analog instead of the spad and the analog is shockingly bad so i'll probably use Xpaddder.

What is the full keyboard controls? I know ZXCV are buttons but i know there are a few more + Start as well.

Is there any information where i can learn about the game at all? I'd imagine it isn't too far off the previous games so any info or tutorials and such would be a big help.

Can't just disable the analog for the gamepad? At least mine's controlled by third-party software, so you can adjust that stuff. Don't know how yours is set up, but analog sounds pretty bad for this.

Try the keys just above ZXCV. I think A is SP, and S is shield, or something like that.

I'm new to the series too, and it was all pretty easy to figure out. Just play around with it.

>> No.7744321

>>7744313
There's an image floating around that explains it but I can't seem to find it.
Basically, you and a friend enter your IP address into the top of the netplay config. Press the button, and it generates a code for you. Swap codes, and enter them into the second section of the config window (hit the left button, enter an arbitrary name in the first field, code in the second field). Make sure that code is selected in the drop down menu. Then both of you enter the port number, 7500, and hit the left button again. Then you're done. Go play, and have one of you host (first option) and the other connect (second option).

>> No.7744322

It feels awkward as hell playing with my keyboard. Right now I'm trying to figure out a button configuration for my controller so I can do some fun chaining hits like B>A>Melee A>Melee B>A>Super Melee and stuff like that.

I found a glitch in arcade mode. I lost to the game and the "finish" text came up but the game kept going. Neither of us could get hit and shortly after the timer went to zero the game crashed.

>> No.7745478

>>7744724
Ya, the game does seem a bit glitchy. It just decided it didn't want to launch for me, for whatever reason.

And now for a completely unfactual, biased tier list.

Infinite combo bullshit tier: Saki
Top tier: Tsih, Mira
Mid tier: everyone else
Shit tier: Kae

Now if only we could get the netplay to work, it might actually matter.

Has anyone else on /jp/ even tried netplay besides me and the anon?

As for your tier list, put Sora and Star Breaker at top tier and move Kyoko to high tier. Oh, and Sham should be in shit tier.

>> No.7745544

>>7745493
Sora is good (crazy good missiles), but Star Breaker only has one really OP move among an otherwise pretty crappy movelist, and Kyoko gets eaten by any character with high priority projectiles. Tsih's boulders and Mira's blades can go through an entire wave of Kyoko's ice blocks. Though, on the other hand, characters like Hime without a whole lot of danmaku probably get put in a corner by Kyoko and never get out. I think because bots are dumb and just eat the ice blocks over and over, Kyoko is the easiest character to rape them with. I won several rounds with Kyoko in under 30 seconds against bots.

Sham I was tempted to put in shit tier, but her robots with S + B are awesome, and if you push someone to the edge you can rape them with green cubes and 2000 damage undodgeable supers. Her green cubes are really only effective at close range, not longer range when they spread, and her robot super is ridiculously quick and does a ton of damage at close range, whereas at long range it'll always get dodged.

>> No.7745602

>>7745544
I haven't played much of Star Breaker to be honest, but I've played quite a few matches against Hard Tsih with Kyoko. The damn boulders do indeed cleave through my barrage of ice, but Kyoko's Hold WA move is really spammable, hits decently well and does okay damage. Spamming Hold WA and Hold WB charges up the gauge really quickly, and with the danmaku on my side, I can get close enough to spam Hyper + SP (short-medium range icicles) which does tons (3 times in succession) of damage and rarely misses.

It probably is a case of the bots being bad, though. I'd really like to play against human-controlled Tsih or Mira.

>> No.7745677

>>7745602
If you like Kyoko, you should play Tsih yourself. She has the same trapping kind of gameplay with the delayed shots, but Tsih does basically everything better. Tsih's supers are OP, her melee is jawesome, and she can control when her boulders release instead of them being on a timer. Also, the weird electric fence thingy she has is ridiculous because she can toss it out really quick, making it easy to use at random and fish for hits, and if it does hit, it stuns for like 4 seconds, so you get your choice of which rocks you want to hit them with.

>> No.7745687

The game actually ran here (to my surprise, after Grief Syndrome failing so marvelously to run) but most of the time the lag is so bad it's barely playable. Changing the texture and color options only helped a bit, too. Oh well.
