i just found this japanese band on youtube noone knows about, and i fell in love with them. especially the singer.
i kind of want someone else to see them because it's really great and i feel like i want to hear someone else's opinion

figured i post this here because i see it as essentially otaku: browsing the internet endlessly, finding a waifu from an obscure band playing in a japanese basement and who of the most beautiful music out of nothing. me obsessing over them.

Best bands dont show their face ever.
Showing their bodies and dancing is work for clowns and prostitutes, so take this to wherever they like that shit.

They're using a metronome. What the hell is wrong with these people?

>> No.7624380

it's obviously a practice session. you use metronomes to keep the timing.

guitarrists or pianists, even singers use metronomes ,too. using a metronome would imply than someone is good at playing, because exact timing is even harder

>> No.7624429

>>7624425
no, you just don't bring a metronome to a group session. Metronomes are for practicing ones own part, alone, imho.
As for the band itself, the song's okay.

>>7624429
you need it even more in group practice, have you ever played in a band?

This thread is proof that /jp/ers are plebians that don't know shit about music. No wonder you worship idols and think ZUN is a good composer.

Not him, but I played in an orchestra before.

Metronomes are completely unnecessary unless you're just starting out, or doing individual practice.

After playing for even six months, you should be able to keep tempo in your head, or by tapping your foot. And on difficult pieces that one tends to speed up or slow down on, you correct yourself after being told you're off-tempo.

Using a metronome is a sign of immaturity in music, not good playing. If you're a good player, you keep time in your head. No exceptions.

In my experience as a musician, the only time a metronome is necessary is when you're practicing a particularly difficult technical section and you naturally start slowing down. This applies for both solo practice and group rehearsals.

I never used a metronome much, but I've always used some sort of device to keep proper tempo like a drum machine or a song or something while practicing. Just part of having proper study habits really.

Should be able to keep that beat like a robot. Then you can breathe life into your playing through your KILLER VIBRATO or whatever advanced techniques you have at your disposal.

You've played in an orchestra and you look down on practicing with a metronome? What the fuck purpose do you think a conductor serves? Stop talking out of your ass.

Following a conductor is nothing like following the BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP of a metronome.

Way to explain how two external methods of keeping time are nothing alike! I'm convinced you're not still talking out of your ass, you were obviously a virtuoso.

>>7625034
He's right. If you think the sole purpose of a conductor is to keep time, then you've never been before a good conductor.

>> No.7625998

It is a bit strange to use a metronome in band practice -- that's what a drummer is for. In small musical ensembles, I've sometimes used a metronome to agree on a tempo, though not during actual practice. Besides, it's silly to compare orchestra to rock band.

Anyway, as much as this band sucks I can see the appeal. It's obscure and Japanese after all.

>> No.7626022

Oh look, the singer is a trap. How cute.
