of course they're alike, they're allied as axis nations in ww2. if you think no one gives a shit, the Chinese would beg to differ. The Jews beat the holocaust dead horse everyday, Germany at least issued a proper apology and acknowledged the event. When the Japanese finally apologized to the Chinese after years of nagging about the nanking(?) + leftover explosives/chemical weapons Japanese just shat and left on their lands... they went behind their backs and revised the educational history books so the kids would learn that they only invaded China to "help them out with other 'invaders'". So there you go, if i was Chinese, that's a major insincere apology that can be seen as nothing but a big fuck you. Imagine the uproar if Germany educated their kids with false history.

Aside from that, in my opinion most races are comparatively more racist to Asians to begin with so no one cared when China was weak and whining. We all went in there for a slice of the pie and exploited China, and now we're scared as fuck of them because they don't give a fuck what we think of them, given that we never cared for them to begin with and fucked them over.
