It's probably meant to be a friendly relationship. However, if you really look into it, Kircheis and Reinhard seem to be based on Hephastion and Alexander. So if you really want to, you can make it into something more.

In the novel [and in some of the movies] Reinhard will play with Kircheis' hair. Touch his hands, etc, etc. The movie has some of this portrayed ^^
