Seriously /jp/..

I just cleared SA on hard

I slayed THAT FUCKING CAT

I captured 2 of Okuu's spellcards and only lost one life in Stage 6

So the last of the regular games on hard that's left is UFO for me and even though I bomb a lot I get raped by Nazrin, by Stage 2, by Stage 3, can't even capture one Kogasa spellcard and die horribly after Ichirin first spellcard

What the hell? How? Why?
Do I just suck at UFO or is this game riddiculously hard on... Hard?

Pic very related

>> No.7508053

Never played it myself but I hear UFO is actually harder on hard. Like, I hear SA is harder on normal than UFO, but UFO's Lunatic is much harder than SA's Lunatic.

>> No.7508070

Apparently SA has less changes from difficulty to difficulty in comparison to UFO. I wouldn't know though because I can't even beat either on Normal.

>> No.7508082

SA was the first hard mode I cleared, years ago when I was much worse. There are only a few real sticky parts. Most of it can be beaten the same way you beat normal, just with less tolerance.

Er, missing info from that post: I recently beat UFO hard only after lots and lots of failure. Much more work than SA took me back then.

UFO is the hardest one yet. You just have to keep trying.

I've been trying to beat UFO on hard for a few months now. I can do a perfect Stage 1 and Stage 2 most of the time but usually get my ass kicked on stage 3. It would be my first hard 1cc if I beat it.

For the spell card in your pic. Go to one side, then the middle, then the other side, and back to the middle. It's a pretty tough card, never the less. Also, for the first strike, you can put your character on Ichirin's knees and go straight nows. The fists will have a narrow gap that will allow you to do more damage. Just don't go higher than the edge of her skirts. Idk if this works with Reimu, though.

MarisaB is fine. It just has much less tolerance for bomb spamming. MarisaA practically eliminates bombs as a UFO tool which blows all sorts of opportunities.

>> No.7508131

>>7508122

I love her bomb in the extra stage. You have to time it properly to account for ufo's in the regular game. Still, her bomb does the most damage of them all. You can skip practically every spellcard with it. Also, her infinite penetration is great for ufo's. I hate the feeling of having a perfect ufo but not being able to hit it in time.

>>7508456
How do you mean what's the difference?
There's no really significant change, it's just that everything is much denser and sometimes faster. Especially Byakuren, she turns on the rape mode on Hard compared to Normal. But if you can even get to her, that's an accomplishment in itself.

>> No.7508549

Collecting the UFO pieces multiplies the difficulty, makes the curve sharper. If you can't easily collect what you need, you'll get shit on. If you can, then it's much easier. Other than the many many resources (behind the UFO barrier), there are no breaks like an easy stage 5 boss, infinite bombs, spell practice, easy stages, etc.

the stages.
The stages are much more brutal and fast-paced than any other lunatic stage in windows touhou. Stage 4 and 5 especially. You being supposed to grab all those UFOs makes things infinitely worse. AND the return of the classic bomb system means that you can't spam bombs during difficult parts, net in power points, rinse and repeat. No, you have to be a fucking jew with your bombs because...

the boss fights.
I really don't know what the fuck happened, but ZUN made the UFO bosses truly ridiculous, Hina in MoF Lunatic or Parsee in SA Lunatic ain't got shit on Kogasa.... Hard.

To be honest I have no idea what the context behind that is, I found it on pixiv like 5 minutes ago. There might be some gimmick like invunerability or a third dimension or something like that, or like in this one where there's a reflector shield.

Hmm, even if you move around in shot types, it shouldn't be all that bad for your practice. Most of the game is in the enemy shots, not yours, though you certainly do have to take yours into account in how you dodge theirs.
