When you wake up, it's terribly hot day, but you have good mood and start to think what kind of weather is in Gensoukyo right now and then you remind yourself that it would be easier to go know this if you were in Gensoukyo ....

So what kind of weather Gensoukyo might have now?

Japan is a tropical island nation so expect high humidity and tropical storms.

I was stuck on an island near Panama once during a tropical storm, near where they shot one of the first seasons of Survivor. Standing outside for about 3 seconds was like having a bucket of water poured on you. It felt nice though, the rain was warm.

>> No.7390161

It depends on where exactly it's located.

Like random rains or ice falling from sky during very hot day? That's something cool because it's better than terribly dry summers

They are in Japan. Marisa has said in the games "Speak Japanese" and "I'll stick to Japanese food". Where in Japan is anyone's guess. I remember a thread awhile back that had google map searches for the location of the shrine.

I always thought Gensokyo was in some kind of bubble dimension and wasn't actually part of the world at all. I suppose thats pretty silly.

Most Gensokyo inhabitants are of Japanese descent and some dialect of Japanese is probably the common language there. But Gensokyo is in another dimension, not in Japan.

But that's wrong.
It's near the Hakurei shrine.
Someone told me once where exactly that shrine is located in the real japan but I forgot about it

It most likely is. The boundary probably causes Gensokyo to not exist in this world. For all we know, the current land in this dimension that would hold Gensokyo otherwise could be a residential district. ZUN's house could be the present shrine.

Gensokyo is inside barrier (aka. "bubble"). Hakurei shrine is something like border of that barrier connecting this to "our world". World of Gensokyo itself is in other (alternative) dimension.

I wonder if they have air conditioners or fans in Gensokyo.

Because so hot place would cause most people and youkais to drop dead in few days...

It's not like that. Gensokyo is in Japan (just like, say, Moon Capital is on the moon). Some call it a pocket dimension, but the border actually just separates reality from myth, common sense from all things supernatural. The geography and landmarks are the same in both worlds. It's probably best to call it an alternative reality.

Pic related, this is how Yukari sees the border.

Well, PCB alone, with its overly long winter, proves that beyond any doubt.

The climate, on the other hand, should be exactly the same. Save maybe the fraction of degree added by global warming since the creation of the barrier.

Ghost in a jar. No, I shit you not, it was in Sangatsusei. Both Reimu and the Three Mischievous Fairies caught themselves a ghost, bound it to an object (a jar with charms plastered all over it in Reimus case) and used their supernatural aura of chill for air conditioning. Then Youmu comes and bitches that people shouldn't turn ghosts into toys.

I moved to Japan 2 months ago. It rains without warning. It's muggy almost all the time. Tropical storms/typhoons exacerbate the rain problem. There are sporadic earthquakes, and this is not a quip at the earthquake/tsunami that just hit.

This is what Gensokyo must be like.

>> No.7390502

Are Japanese people causing allergy for you?

It might be because they have different set of diseases than you.
