You probably don't have the RPG Maker 2000 files to make it run properly. I believe they're at http://www.famitsu.com/freegame/rtp/2000_rtp.html (just remember to install it in Japanese locale if you want to avoid mojibake).

Oh god, I forgot how much I loved Yume Nikki. I'm totally going to play this all night. Someone totally has to translate this. The music is great too.

Yes, the only text in the entire game is found in the menus and instruction slides, both of which are very easy to navigate.

The only possible issue is choosing the right "effect" (power) from the pause menu, but you can simply memorise where each specific effect, recognise their name or simply get the right one through trial and error.

There is apparently a translation for 0.9 (previous version). It's probably not difficult to snatch their translations and add your own for any new effects.

If someone has a save with all the effects in 0.10, I would appreciate it if they uploaded the file (should be Save0#.lsd in the main folder), for translation checking.

Attached is a shitty icon I made for the game's launcher some time ago, I might include it in the translation patch.

Just like that Anon said. Yume2kki, however, has a library with a lot of things in Japanese (possibly not important for the "plot"), so hopefully once it hits its final version someone will cook up a translation.

If you have the Japanese version of 0.10 installed, get the patch. If not, get the full version.

I couldn't find two of the menu style GET events, other than that I think it's a pretty complete translation. I did a speed run to find all the effects, so please let me know about any inevitable mistakes.

Keep in mind that if you're trying the game for the first time, you'll need to install the RM2k RTP first (see >>7335971 )

I believe it only adds five new effects and the whole ending, as well as some new events. If you somehow don't care about that, don't update.

The English patch appears to have crashed when I ran it without a Japanese locale, maybe it would be a good idea to remind people that this patch isn't as... well, complete? as Yume Nikki's was.
As in, it does not turn all file names into mojibake to let the game run perfectly even without a Japanese locale.

Good point. The problem is that I don't think RPG Maker 2k has the option to rename resources in any reasonable fashion. I would have to rename every single file with Japanese characters, then find any reference to that resource and reselect the correct file.

In any case I should have mentioned locale settings.
