Dear /jp/, how do you take it easy? Aside from leeching from your parents, that is. I've seen a few of you talk about investing.

My idea was to get a good job after college (additional easy taking time) and hoard a lot of money by living humbly, then putting it all in the bank and living off the profit, but college has been an intensely frustrating ordeal, plus that would still take YEARS of hard work, so is there an easier way?

My country also won't give away money for silly made up mental conditions, unlike the USA, so that's not an option.

>> No.7297270

What country do you live in?

Norway dude here and i gotta love the free money for my "silly made up mental condition"

Its enough to pay the rent for a apartment and anything else i could want.

You can also go to work and still take it easy.
Taking it easy isn't doing nothing for the rest of your life.Well for some it is, but really it's more like mindset that enables you to have lots of shit happen to you while still being able to smile and be like "well whatever"

Yesterday I applied for a job at two locations.

I was very pleased with myself of having mounted the courage to do that.

But then it hit me, "oh crap, I applied for a job!" That means I'm gonna have to answer the phone when they call me. Then I'm gonna have to show up to some place I've never been. I'm gonna have to do things I've never done. With people I've never met.

As a NEET, this is a very stressful situation.

I know that feel.
I've used a Phone about 4-5 times in the last 6 years, I feel very awkward and nervous when I'm on the phone for some reason. I always end up just repeating myself and asking them to repeat them self, I always get worked up and it stresses me out. Then if you get through the phone call, they want to meet you in person and that's even worse, you have to wash, get dressed and go outside in the sunlight and wait in a room till someone you've never met calls you. The actual interview is the worst, sitting there in the middle of the room, sitting on your hands and sweating like a Paedophile in a Nursery while 2-3 people stare at you. Words are lost on me at this point, I can't think, I can't speak and my brain completely shuts down and to top it off my stomach is so fuzzy that I constantly fart.
Shit's so exhausting and terrifying, so much easier to just sit at home in bed with your laptop.
I didn't ask to be born into this world, I don't want to be part of this world, why do I have to conform with the rules of society and be another law-abiding happy insect worker with a boring 9-5 job and die without ever doing anything~?
Fuck this shit, fuck it all, you can stick your job up your arse, I aint doing shit.

It's not that bad at all. I just got a job as a cashier at a local Japanese market, and all you really ever say is:
Hello! How are you? (こんにちは、いらっしゃいませ!)(ignored)
That'll be $XX and yy cents (XXドルとYYセントとなります)
here's your chanage (XXドルとYYセントのお返しとなりまう)
Thank you have a nice day (ありがとうございました)

ad infinitum + occasionally telling people where some stuff is.

Actually, art of any kind (including literature) is not a good way to make money. Often, the artists are practically scammed by their publishers, working their asses off for a ridiculously low pay while publishers make tons of money. Plus, becoming successful in art is always a gamble, and most people lose that gamble.

>>7297338

Because you rely on society. If you don't want to do your share of the work society requires, you're free to move to the wilderness and live as a hermit. But you can't, because you're used to having food supplies regularly delivered to your supermarket, water coming from your tap 24/7, and having extremely high-quality clothing and shelter provided by society.
You can choose to either take care of all of these things yourself, or you can choose to let society help you. But if you choose the latter, society expects something in return. Money is the 'points system' society uses for this; the greater your contribution to society, the more you're allowed to get in return. (Theoretically, of course. Practically, people have been cheating the system for countless centuries, causing the balance to be completely lost...but it still serves its main purpose.)

professional writer here, this is not what you want to be doing if you want stay home all day taking it easy.

There are probably less than 100 people in NA who can make a full-time job of just writing books.

For pretty much every other kind of money you'd have to go out and actually meet people

Well I'm not cynical. I'm a positive person and I accept those things as reality. My fears are irrational and I do not understand them. I like to be sociable and have places to go and responsibility. But, it's little things that preclude those other things that prevent me from being that normal productive member of society I aspire to be.

It's like a giant wall. Picking up the phone is such a stressful task, but after you do it, it's like--hm that wasn't so bad. But that feeling NEVER goes away! It's a perishable skill. If you stop doing something for a while, it becomes scary as fuck even if you had done that thing many times before. I don't understand it. I try so hard to be decisive and unafraid by confronting my fears, but they're just as scary as fuck every time.

That isn't very likely. You might not have to deal with society at large, but you would still have to make yourself useful to the local community, and you'd probably be allowed few personal items, if any. A monastery isn't the kind of place you'd want to go if you want idle time.

I take it easy by not worrying about shit that doesn't matter. I don't hold grudges with people, I try to be polite when it's reasonable, and I don't stress myself out over doing my job. What's important in my life is being relaxed and productive. If I'm not relaxed I'm not productive with my hobbies. I'm training for a job in a field I love, where I can be creative and utilitarian at the same time, so work won't feel like a chore. I chill with bros and don't give a fuck about love.

It's very easy to take it too easy. I don't worry about it though.
