7180008 No.7180008 [Reply] [Original]

Who else wants a translation project of Kusarihime? It's probably one of the most underappreciated VN's in the west.
Also, did anyone by any chance write a detailed plot summary?

>> No.7180034

Every untranslated eroge can be called unappreciated in the west.

>> No.7180086

Bound to be badly received because a lot of games that borrow heavily on this have been translated first, so the average user will think it's a rehashed plot.
Same thing will happen with Umineko and Forest, hear my words.

>> No.7180095

It looks pretty good from the tags and description. Also Liar-soft.

I would like to read it.

>> No.7180109

>>7180086
Let's suppose it is translated. You just need to point out the year this VN was made to shut them up.

>> No.7180117

>>7180086
Yeah, you're right. This an Forest are my top 2 games I'd like to see a translation of, but the chances of it being called a rehash is pretty high. I still hope people will notice that these works were the original inspiration for so many other games.
The story of Kusarihime, imo, stands fairly well on it's own and I'd go so far as to claim that it did age pretty well with time.

>> No.7180144

>>7180109
>You just need to point out the year this VN was made to shut them up.
Are you that naive? Pointing that out will just pass you off as elitist and hipster that likes shit "before it was cool", since most games that came after are also more polished.
No one cares about what came first besides those who already played them in order, and knows which game is a rehash of which. The average user will read them and think "oh well, this is pretty much like ___, but I read ___ first so it's not as effective as the first time I read about this story".

Most people here don't want their imouto heroine to be gangbanged, sorry.

Well, to be fair, theonly ting that's similar ae some of the themes and the basic premise. The execution is different and so are the solutions to all f the mysteries. I still think that it's a game whos stoy would work even today.

>> No.7180169

>>7180144
>The average user will read them and think "oh well, this is pretty much like ___, but I read ___ first so it's not as effective as the first time I read about this story".
If only. Only a few of them will think like that, like you already said they will simply say it's boring. But then again, retards will always exist.

Still, while I understand the feelings of those who already read it, I would like to see it translated since I can't read Japanese and things get worse if it's a Liar-soft title.

Choux said it pretty well:
After Kusarihime -euthanasia- was created, its writer, Hoshizora Meteor, wanted to create a fanbook. In doing so, some other writers were dragged into the project. They were Urobuchi Gen, Romeo, and Kinoko Nasu. All three writers were inspired by this story.Taking the concept of two people whose love can only be confirmed through each other and insanity, Urobuchi went and made Saya no Uta. Taking the concept of time loops, insanity, twisted personal relationships, and not giving the readers answers, Romeo went and made Cross Channel. Taking the concept of love, family bonds, and insanity, Konoko Nasu went and madethe Heaven’s feel path in Fate/stay night. There are many parallels between this and Higurashi too, such as the time loops and how the seemingly traditional mythological power turns out to be related to science fiction instead.

I got C, D, E, F as a hard disc with F being the one where the game is installed. The game is mounted in H.
Just to make sure, I just ave to ount it as a G, right?
