Bad end guy here, I'm slightly confused. Ar Ru was spreading antibodies throughout Sol Cluster (and eventually the world) but this was completely ignored in the ending of the bad end, it just focused on Finnel and Saki dying then everyone living a happy life like nothing happened.. Where the fuck did the antibodies go?

Obligatory Tilia~.jpg also.

However, there's a bug, so if you install it before going through Tyria CS' first level, you miss out on a Hyuma. Here's NISA's response to that, by the way:

Hello there,

Thank you very much for emailing us.
Here is what you can do.

1. unlock Hyuma 44 first, then download the DLC.

If you already have the DLC, you can uninstall the game system and then
install it again.
You should unlock the Hyuma 44, then re-download the DLC. (once you purchase
it you should be able to download it again free.)

This should work.
Please let us know if there are any additional questions!

I like her model with her hair down but the whole SUPERMOVES = NO CLOTHES kind of puts me off. I'm fine with purging since your reyvateil is generally ignored but seeing your vanguards run around in swimwear against massive tower guardians and such just looks plain silly.

>>7142743

One DLC is Ar Ru being extremely moe which includes a hug scene that has probably claimed the lives of thousands of people. The other DLC is Harve-sama having different personalities. They're only English voiced though apparently which is a shame since I've been playing with Japanese voices.

You're up to the third game in this series and you're just now complaining about how silly it is?

>> No.7142956

Do any of the vanguards play particularly better under manual control than the others? I see a lot of videos of people manually controlling Cocona and I'm not sure if it's just personal preference on their part or if she's a better person to be behind the wheel of than Aoto for some reason.

>> No.7142968

>>7142956
She does the most damage, so I'm sure that's one reason people play her.
She also has 2 quick specials, one knocking the enemy back and one blowing her back for building beat, and most importantly, it's a girl.

I controlled Doc though, since Aoto sucks at building beat and Doc never did much damage anyway. In hard its not like the vanguards can do any amount of decent damage when you can triple purge ~10s in and end it 5-10s later.

>> No.7143092

>>7142968

Triple purge in 10 seconds? Am I missing something? Very rarely do I see that many beats in such a short time, especially at level 1. I usually get the needed 15 or so beats around 30 seconds in.

>>7142950

Neither AT1 or AT2 had your vanguards wearing swimsuits. There's a reason given for purging in AT3 but when it comes to the supermoves you're just told "I get hot while doing it" for Gojo and the wind apparently blows away Cocona's clothes before she even builds up momentum. Aoto doesn't even give a reason, he just goes from fully clothed in the little cutscene to a pair of shorts and a massive drill out of nowhere.

>> No.7143129

The answers in the thread are mostly right, but let me tie it together and add a bit.

When Mir was imprisoned in the second age, a man posing as Silver Horn research staff called Ayatane Michitaka tried to free her but died in the attempt. He was actually a Teru from Harvestasya - they wanted her help in creating Reyvatelia, so they were going to bail her out and use relay satellites so she could go to the Third Tower. Ironically, Mir is later interested in going to Harvestasya in order to create a world where everyone can live in peace together.

This Ayatane made such an impression on Mir that he eventually became her Mind Guardian; the Ayatane from AT1 is also based on him, but this was a conscious decision.

Now, Lufan's real name is Ayatane Kureha Kirinami. In Clusternia, the Teru are known as youke, and Ayatane is the name of one of the Youke families. (They are specifically one of the Calamity Youke - i.e., the Teru clans involved in the Grathnode Inferia.) The Ayatane family are known as the Munof clan in Sol Ciel - their middle name is Pel, and they have the power of premonition. In Toukousphere 90, it's mentioned that his name in Sol Ciel would be Kureha Pel Kirinami.

Still playing through AT2, but been slowing down a bit since another game has eaten up my free time lately.
In AT1 there's a choice to continue the game into Phase 3 or end it there, and from what I understand there's a boss fight in AT3 where if you don't beat it in 7 minutes, then you can't move on to the next phase.
Is there anything similar in AT2 that I should be aware of?

>> No.7144960

>> No.7145006

Nope.

In terms of endings, there are two lock-out junctions. The first is in the major decision in P1, which locks out one of the two main reyvateils and the second lockout is simply accepting a reyvateil as a partner in their L5 Cosmospheres, which will lock out the last remaining reyvateil.

Speaking of lock outs, Cloche is weaker than any other reyvateil who is locked out from the higher level cosmospheres since her L3 has been deleted, which then means less costumes, and song magic before the L5 decision time.

Perhaps Ar tonelico Qoga will quench the thirst of many wanting to play a console JRPG, but the game is filled with debilitating flaws. Almost everything that Ar tonelico Qoga provides has been done before in a JRPG; the lack of original content and presence of overused content doesn't leave much to praise. It also appears that this will be the last Ar tonelico entry and I think that's a good thing, for I fear what kind of game we would get if they tried to top the sexual antics of this one. I'm no prude when it comes to sexual content in RPGs, but this game takes it a step too far and it's very unappealing. The narrative is always going for the easy, dirty joke when it doesn't need to be there - it even ruins a lot of touching scenes in the game. Additionally, the longwinded random battles are bound to turn many off. As a fan of the series, I was hoping it would go out with a bang, not a fizzle. The potential is here to be the console JRPG many were looking for, but it's plagued with horrible design choices. Still, underneath all the filth is a touching story that's worth experiencing if you've been following the series from the beginning. Who knows, maybe it'll be easy to overlook the flaws for those who desperately want to be playing RPGs on a console. However, for me it's straightforward - Ar tonelico Qoga is disappointing.

However, I'd love to see a disc rip of the JP version for asset extraction, since all the audio is Sofdec. Well, I guess I'll grab the EN too for EN dialogue, but... (not all of the JP audio is in NISA's version for some reason- they probably didn't want to/couldn't afford a total dub, and didn't want there being scenes voiced in one but not the other.)

ATQ is missing audio. Any time you you hit triangle to go to the text log and see a speaker icon, that line was supposed to be voiced.

I don't remember how much is missing audio... actually, I don't remember if any JP audio is missing or not (I'm playing EN copy in EN). There are definitely unvoiced lines in EN, though - for example, the marriage square in Finnel CS3 was all voiced originally. (I very clearly remember cracking up at the PAPAAAAAAAAAAAAA!) Going off what was said a thread or two ago about phases in Quoga being a "wait, it's over, but nothing happened?" thing as opposed to 1 and 2 where phases tended to have their own epic climaxes, after finishing it it feels like while 1/2 spread out their HOLY SHIT EPIC parts (ie anything where a track on a hymnos concert CD is involved) somewhat evenly across the story, Quoga back-loads them. Who cares about a trophy? It's ridiculously easy to get onto the true ending. MYU can die within a minute or two though it's nice to drag it out to listen to the song and stopping Saki is as simple as mashing X during that scene. 2 or 3 hearts on a heroine is also easy because.. you're required to have those by that time anyway. And that's your true ending unlocked. Simple. It doesn't matter if you missed talk topics or whatever, you can just unlock those on a NG+ playthrough.

>> No.7151002

This. Also, I'd recommend unless you're completely sure you're going for a certain heroine's route, that you get two hearts on one, and one on the other. If you put all three onto one, you're locked onto her ending, and thus cannot get Tyria's, if you decide you want to later. You can, you just have to max out their cosmospheres, whereas with 3:0 you're locked in no matter what (though you should still max their cosmospheres even if you're 3:0ing, obviously.) And I don't think there are any major scenes you miss in the true end path with a 2:1 split (there's exactly one story scene from the start of phase 4 to when you kill the final boss that seemed to care about route choice at all in Finnel's case.)

Well you're mostly correct. Save before the third heart piece (there's a save point right before the scene..) this allows you to then dump 3 hearts into one heroine for her normal end (for the extra scene - it takes a very short amount of time to get from here to the scene with the decision to stop her) then you can reload and go 2:1 which allows a heroines true ending, Cocona's ending or Tilia's true/normal ending.

Finnel's cosmosphere levels are just so awesome, especially the last two. Getting my waifu (dat voice..), losing Momoko, getting a golden shower from Soma, Momoko appearing again telling me Finnel's weak spot and still being a massive S for Finnel, Soma confessing in a talk topic afterwards

Well that was definately a unique experience. I'm certainly glad I chose Finnel for my first playthrough.

Unless you've been routinely running from battles there's no way you could be underleveled, at least character level-wise. Purge to level 3 (Have decent hyumas equipped on your reyvateil too) and just let your burst build up. A handful of supermoves will take him down or even a single flipsphere when you have decent burst (100k or so is good enough, I'd say).

I don't remember how much hp it has, but I beat it on hard mode with lower to mid 40's for my levels.
Do you have the supermoves? I remember 3x supermoves and a 500k% purge did the trick.

You can always just knock it down to easy if you need to.

As for the optional boss in hard mode, you don't want to stand in front of her. If she uses the non-ougi type special it will kill you, unless you abuse the fact that items freeze time to heal up. Ougi type move is weak though, it didn't even kill the spoiler Reyvatail with her sub 3k hp.
The easiest way is to probably use supermoves and maybe a flipsphere to kill the add first, since its weak to physical and the fight becomes much easier with only 1 boss. Then just kite the boss around until its time to unload a crazy song. There is little point in trying to melee her since you are basically doing scratch level damage even with attack up and triple purge. Note that even if you want to end it with 1 flipsphere, you are probably better off using the supermoves on the add, since it is strong vs song magic.

Your Ar tonelico Qoga order was one of a small number of orders that our warehouse shipped out as USPS First Class International (our most affordable shipping method), instead of the USPS Express International (our fastest USPS shipping method) method you selected. You may have already noticed this when you checked your tracking information. We understand that having your order shipped as quickly and carefully as possible is extremely important to you, so we have already re-shipped your item(s) with the proper shipping method. I am extremely sorry for the mix-up with your shipping and if you were one of the few people who receive a copy without an OST. Both of these errors were out of our hands and we are doing our best to rectify them, so we hope you won’t hold these issues against our Online Store or company in general.

>You will be receiving two duplicate shipments of the item(s) you ordered, which you are free to keep. If you decide you’d like to return one of the shipments, we ask that you only do so if it can be returned at little to no cost for you. For example, if you live in a country that will return refused items Internationally, you could refuse the second shipment. We can reimburse you for reasonable return shipping costs, but would rather have you just keep the items than have either of us pay to send them back.

>We are currently working on getting tracking numbers for your second shipment and will surely send you more information as we receive it.

That's not necessarily true, if AT1 or AT2 never happened then the planet would have died regardless of what the AT3 cast would do so I'd say that all of the games focus on saving the planet in some way whether you realise it or not. Having a look at the extra menu I think I didn't do too badly for playing on Hard with no guides. Missed 2 talk topics for Finnel otherwise I fully completed her (I'll grab them in my next playthrough). Managed to synth all weapons/items without a problem, got the extra CGs from Akane and I also got around 70% of Tilia and Saki's talk topics too without even trying. I also got that chest trophy too which made me laugh since I wasn't even trying to get it. Time to NG+ and faceroll my way through the other routes now since my characters were level 85 or so with their best items.

Also zooming in on Harvestasya in the character profile menu yields some rather delicious results. And some of these dislikes are quite funny.. Tilia dislikes Shurelia, Cocona dislikes 'anything sticky' and Ar Ru dislikes stripping.

Yeah, like I said before in one of the threads (maybe this one? Too lazy to ctrl-f,) 1/2 spread out their epic moments (ie anything involving something from a hymnos concert CD) across the game somewhat evenly, with each phase having its own awesome climax, while 3 stuffs it all into the last phase and a half.

So while the game can be a little weak in the first half or so compared to the first halves of its predecessors, once you get to the Rinkernator you're exposed to a pretty constant stream of epic for the remainder of the game.

If you read the encyclopedia entries (sorry, I forget what they're actually called, but it's in the menus) about Clustanian Dive Shops, it says they're basically giant vibrator factories. Reyvateils go there and plug in to remote anonymous cleansed partners.

It turned me on.

At first I thought to myself, there is no way in hell this is true.
Then before I realized it I started up my ps3 and was loading into the game.

"I like to bully you around"
Aoto: heh heh heh
Finnel: Don't laugh like that! It's creepy
Aoto: The reason I do it is because... it's fun to tease you!
Finnel: What!? Why is that!?
Aoto: Ever since I met you, my favorite hobby has been to tease you! I love your reactions.
Finnel: Th-that's... so mean!
Aoto: I know. But, who fell in love with that meanie?
Finnel: ...I-I did...
Aoto: That's right! So, I'll tease you more than ever now. Get ready for that.
Finnel: *sigh*
Aoto: Haha, I'm just kidding.
Finnel: huh?
Aoto: You always take everything so seriously. I like that. You're so cute.
Finnel: Oh, so you were kidding again...
Aoto: Hey, why are you so relaxed?
Finnel: Huh? All of my tension just melted away all of a sudden...
Aoto: You're weird.
Finnel: Aoto... it's okay, as long as it's you.
Aoto: Huh? What do you mean?
Finnel: It's okay for you to bully me, but... only you, okay?
Aoto: Huh? What are you talking about!?
Finnel: When you bully me like that, your eyes look so strong, and... It makes my heart race. So... I'm actually...always looking forward to being teased by you... So... well... I like you.
Aoto: ... Do you know how idiotic you sound!?
Finnel: ...hehehe. I like your dirty mouth, too!

I guess I trust /jp/ more than gust.

I just played through ATQ in front of some friends.
Long story short, friends wanted to see the "new game you just bought" and wouldn't take "I don't really feel like it" for an answer.

It was fine for a while, since I turned off the purges, and they seemed to like the graphics and battle system. Then I got the dive scene with Finnel.
Cue "diving virginity", half-naked insect girls, whipping noises. blatant masochistic tendencies and a gamut of other awkward shit.

I wonder why Qoga got a M rating in the US, but only a 12+ by PEGI in Europe (with warnings on the sexual themes, among others). I guess in Europe they only care for full frontal nudity and innuendo is okay? Rorona also has a 12+ rating with a warning for sexual themes (so there's no way in hell they weren't aware of the Yuri subtext. Or just the Yuri text, there isn't a lot of sublety). FFXIII got 16+, however. Maybe because... characters are nude when in crystal form? I don't get it at all.

>> No.7162688

Because Rorona was more suggestive, including delicious swimsuits and drunkard rape.

Also, got Qoga today, played a little, and now am parting ways with it for a while. ;_;

For Qoga:

Final Fantasy XIII
http://www.pegi.info/en/index/global_id/505/?searchString=final+fantasy+xiii&agecategories=&
genre=&organisations=&platforms=&countries=&submit=Search#searchresults

Looks like PEGI looks at the realism of the violence and sexual themes. Since Qoga's character designs are cartoonish, they gave the 12+, while ESRB looks at the game's content. But I think ESRB's M rating is a bit too much.

>> No.7162848

Well, you know how American parents are. Better to play it safe and give it an M rating so they can release it uncensored than give it a T rating and possibly have to edit/cut some stuff out.

There are three places in the game where you have to choose to worry about either Finnel or Saki, and whoever you pick gets a heart point. 3 or 2 heart points will allow you get that girl's end, and you need to split them up 2:1 for the third Reyvateil's ending.

There are recurring characters from both AT1 and AT2, some significant plot points that tie into the previous games, as well as a few cutesy references here and there.
