Am I the only one that doesn't "hate" Luca? I mean yeah, the things she admits to Croix in the middle of Phase 1 put her in a really bad light and she doesn't look as delicious as the other two heroines. But I can't bring myself to hate her, at least not to the level I've seen from everyone else. I've beaten the game and seen all endings except Luca's (near the end of Phase 2 here) and she wasn't THAT horrible to me. Maybe she does something else horrible later in her route that causes such hatred, but I haven't gotten there yet.

I might just be biased, though, because of her english voice actor and her hidden femdom tendencies.

Her English voice actress is the worst voice actress in the industry and would make me hate her even more if I didn't always play with the original Japanese voices.

Every character she has ever voiced has been a slut except a handful, and she makes that handful seem like a bunch of sluts as well by merit of being voiced by her. Awful.

She's actually my favorite heroine out of the series. Granted, I haven't played 3/Qoga yet, but compared to all the other heroines, she is the most selfish and flawed, and yet also the most human. Her story and character were a lot more relatable and endearing to me than any of the others.

>> No.7102633

More endearing than Misha's "oh please just try to remember, Lyner, I suffered for so long just so I co--uh, hey, what're you doing NO PLEASE DON'T PUT ME BACK IN HERE I HATE IT IN HERE IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO GET OUT I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE I DON'T WANT TO SING"?

To me, Misha was easily the most endearing, though out of the Reyvateils I ended up liking Mir the most. Cynthia is still my favorite female overall.

So far, so fun. Combat's a lil' shallow, and graphics could use some work in backgrounds- that aside, however, everythin's been fun so far.

Tatsumi's voice seems kinda odd, though- wonder how they'll siwtch VAs when he turns into Cocona.

As someone already reported, however, the dialogue grabs quite the colloquial speech. Doesn't feel as in "generic fantasy sci-fi setting" as much, instead going for something more...up to date, one could say.

It does, it just doesn't feel as normal nor cliché, I guess? as it is.

Hell, Mute's openin speech is about enough to give you an idea of how the characters will talk.

Characters still keep their personalities and whatnot fairly well, however. Saki, for example, still refers to herself as in third person and whatnot.

It just uses a more expansive, more colloquial mixture of words and terms. Going all like "Fo' sho!", for example, isn't an uncommon sight.

It's honestly not a spam of colloquial terms as if you were in New York's downtown- you'd have to play the game to see stuff like that, though.

Aoto goes out with the certain "bro" here and "'sup" there, among other things, but that's about it.

That's what you get from getting a certain nigger into localization, either way.

But honestly, it's not that bad. In my personal opinion, that's it.

It's more of a localization and less of a direct translation, that's how I'd explain it.

Dear Valued Customer,

First of all, we would like to thank you for purchasing the Premium Edition of Ar tonelico™ Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel through the NISA Online Store. We truly appreciate your continued support.

It has come to our attention that some of the Premium boxes did not contain the advertised soundtrack CD. It appears that the CDs were inadvertently left out of some of the boxes during the assembly process at Sony’s manufacturing facility. This issue should not affect very many of the customers who ordered from the NISA Online Store, but we ask that you please check your Premium Box upon arrival. We are very sorry if you were one of the few customers who find that their CD is missing and would like to assure you that we are in communication with Sony to make sure that the missing CDs get shipped out as soon as possible.
If you did not receive your soundtrack CD, please use this claim form (http://nisamerica.com/games/atq/ost_replace.php)) to request a copy of the soundtrack. We will forward your information ASAP to Sony for fulfillment.

Please note that it will take roughly 1-2 weeks to receive your CD from the date of your claim form submission. Also, the soundtrack CD will be shipped to you directly from Sony DADC in Terre Haute, IN, so please be aware that the sender address will NOT be NIS America, Inc.
Thanks again for all of your support!

The story might be a bit of a mash-up depending on what heroines you like more.
I played AT1 when it came out and again in January to prepare for at3, and it certainly did age.
I would highly suggest that unless you absolutely hate both girls in AT1 and AT2 that you play them in order. Mostly for the reason that going back to AT1 from AT2 or AT3 is going to make it feel much more painful.
If you really don't care much, I'm sure you could start out on AT3 and still enjoy it though.

Who knows, honestly.

Who knows.

Though I've liked certain name changes; Syurelia to Shurelia and Mule to Mir are perfect examples of them doing it right. Croche to Cloche, Croah to Croix, etcetera.

Sadly, they've also shot themselves in the foot for the whole Jacqli instead of Jakuri (I grew fond of the former, for the matter- yet that opinion isn't shared by other fans) and, ugh, Tilia to Tyria, for shame.

I do not get their reasoning to change the names in such subtle ways, however. Seriously, I don't see WHY.

Not that it bothers me much, though.

To you. Here's the thing: they aren't trying to sell it to you. They think you'll most likely buy it in spite of your complaints about the minor changes and can get more people to buy it by making those changes. The number of sales is the most important thing to them. They think they can sell more by localizing, so they do. Vote with your dollar.

any pcsx2 pros in here? Is it possible to use a ps3 sixaxis controller on pcsx2 running of Windows 7 64 bit?

"Setting up a DualShock 3 Direct Connection You must have libusb installed for this to work. See http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-7582.html for more details. sixaxis64.exe is not needed, but the libusb drivers are required. Not sure if the "Add hardware wizard" step is needed or not, I suggest you do it, just in case. Note that those are 64-bit instructions. It's simpler to install and configure on 32-bit OSes. You must press the PS button while a game is running or binding controls to initialize the DS3. Once it's been initialized once, a single light should turn on (Pad 1 light if you only have one plugged in), and you shouldn't have to do it again until you unplug the controller or reboot (Even if you restart PCSX2). It may take several seconds to start working. When you unplug it from the pc, all 4 lights will blink for a while, and it may rumble once or twice. Not sure how to prevent the rumbling."

Irrelevant and retarded points. You're making excuses for poorly handled choice of translation. There's no good reason in having it changed. None. The whole for "localization" for target audience purpose is a crap argument given how many other names weren't Americanized or pointless changed, yet that one particularly was. Further, localization changes are generally are shitty to nonsensical. Faithfulness or unaltered changes is way more valued. At2 translation is generally piss poor, and has numerous translation fuck ups, and Jacqli is one of them, and is a typical example of screw ups that often ar founded in official translations that fans pick at. The first one really could have gone any way, for the second I think you might only get a certain scene with Cocona in the end if you get Jaqli's ending, but I'm not sure on that because it's the only path I bothered to take.

If it's the same scene I think you're talking about, that scene with Cocona is in all ends.

I don't know what's canon. I assume it's Aurica for AT1, and either Cloche or Jacqli for AT2. I do think Cloche's path, at least, makes more sense than Luca's path. Especially the bit that happens to the chosen heroine near the end of Phase 1 and all the stuff that goes on in Phase 2.

Ar Tonelico Qoga's canon heroine will likely be either Saki or Tyria.

>If she's doing something special for Croix, why is that?

She wanted to distract Croix from entering her real cosmosphere where he will discover that she isn't as cheery as she looks, being constantly worried about the state of her sister and how she really feels about him.

And in the off chance that Luca was only pretending to be pure to get Croix to like her, something that reflected her need to keep that a secret would have appeared in her cosmosphere.

Of course, pretty much any game you end up playtesting you will not ever want to play again. Unless the company lets you do normal runs through the game or something. I don't know how the smaller companies work really because at Sony we got all kinds of games, and we usually decided who got the worst of the picks between the testers.
The company and manager has a big part in the environment. My manager wanted to keep us there as long as possible, so he would bring in take out and we had a break corner with SF and other fighters.
Some companies want you to be 9-5, others want you to be a 24/7 sweatshop.

You usually spent ~3/4 the time on say 1/4 the game, depending on what was buggy.
More often than not I had a list of bugs I was told to ignore, and the script was not something I was part of fixing, unless it was garbled text errors that I would make a note of.

I'm in asia and the game doesn't come out till saturday or monday. Was a mouthfulh having to go "do you have ar toe-ne-li-co 3" at 4 stores with most of them saying they have no idea what that is until the last store told me about when shit will be arriving

I got sick of that bullshit so I primarily buy online now.
The stores aren't at fault, since NIS games are relatively obscure and Ar Tonelico is somewhat difficult to pronounce, but it saves frustration on both mine and the clerk's part to do things that way.

It does take away from the satisfaction of seeing the cashier's expression when he has to scan the case and box the disc of the aforementioned "obscure" games though.

You have the same problem as me. I'm not sure if the game will be out next week here.

Somehow 404'd before this one...

Also damn, but this install takes a long time. Is that just because I pirated it and it gets irked at having to do it from the external or something?

Oh, nevermind. Took like 5 minutes to do the first two percent, then started to speed up.

God, I remember Gran Turismo 5's taking like fucking 15 minutes just to do the last 3% even when it says 10 seconds left

Wonder why it got deleted.

Apparently it had a spoiler image for the OP. (OP probably deleted it himself when he realized this.) I didn't get to see it, because the image failed to load for me, so I can't comment on how much of a spoiler it actually was.
