Definitely. And it is as easy as editing text files. Is will be magnitudes less time consuming than making voice patch, but probably requires a bit deeper understanding of onscripter (unless you just downscale pictures to original PC resolution, if so then you don't need to edit any text at all).

Maybe so, but it seems more logical to do something like this with vectors so scaling will never be a problem. For a console game that might need to run on a bunch of different resolutions it would make sense.

Thank you for your work.

>probably requires a bit deeper understanding of onscripter (unless you just downscale pictures to original PC resolution, if so then you don't need to edit any text at all).
The problem now seems that, apparently, onscripter doesn't support windows larger than 800x600 and works with 4:3 aspect ratio. So our options are:
1. Port the whole game to other engine (ohohoho)
2. Look at source code (C++) and see what could be done, maybe ask Mion for help
3. Resize/crop them
Maybe resizing with different aspect ratio is not such big deal with this art style. Shame that it's not an hd though.

Also, is there some kind of script or anything in which we can see how cgs are controlled? It's not a problem with backgrounds, but some cgs are apparently designed for animation.

Maybe there will be a bg patch for ep1 in a few days. As for sprite patch, well. The "lazy edition" could probably be done in one day - you just have to organize them properly to match the script. And it'll only use the amount of sprites original had, which is quite limited:
Amakusa: original - 4, ps3 - 32
Beato (two costumes): 103, 500
Battler: 68, 229
Jessica: 30 (only one dress), 113 (3 different dresses)
and so on.
So the full sprite patch will require some artistic approach: read the scene, determine what sprite fits it, reread to test it, repeat. Assuming you don't have ps3 to see how it was done there. Then again, they were animated there.

Also, anyone knows what background is in the title screen of ps3 version? Is it that sad Battler or portraits for each episode or what?

That is a problem, no one has a copy of the game, or the time to sit and record what sprite is being used.

If anything, just match up the same number of sprites that fit the old ones expression and make a basic patch. More detailed additions with animation and other expressions can come later.

>Might want to adjust the height at which they display
That's the problem. Many sprites are larger than the window (Battler's height ~1200) and the default command used to display them doesn't support any location modifiers, except left-center-right. Maybe it'd be easier just to crop the bottom part of every sprite.

>Are you going to try using one of the text window BGs from the game?
Maybe. But for now it's easier to use onscripter-generated window, because I need to adjust font size, location of every element on screen, etc, etc. Some of tl;dr texts that fit on the whole screen, won't fit in that narrow text window. Therefore, you'll need to edit the script again.

If anyone is willing to help, here's what you can do: image editing.

Original backgrounds with text, translated by WH:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1ophfjvc6h1rehs
The filenames of those bgs match the filenames in bg torrent. Though few of them are missing, probably because ps3 doesn't use them, most important of which is text006.png
Look up the translation of a certain bg, starting from ep1 and edit corresponding ps3 bg accordingly.

I think I've explained what one needs to do. I guess, I wasn't clear enough. Hope this picture explains it better. I'm assuming everyone already has bgs downloaded, otherwise I can upload "translated original"-"untranslated hd PS3" pairs. Each such picture has the same filename both in original and remake, the only difference is quality and translation, of course.
E.g.: end_1a (.jpg in original, .png in remake) for this ep1 scroll.
You take translation from the first and edit the second.

I'm browsing /jp/ daily, so there should be no problem contacting me. Also you can PM me on youtube. Also I've left an email in readme when I did the first voice patch.

I don't really like blogs, because you have to update them or people will start complaining (see: WH), but ok, please send the password to voicedumineko@yahoo.com

Maybe I'll post when I have enough content.

>>7016386
I haven't decided on the font yet. Default font is 26 which is tiny on 1080 screen. I used 32 in >>7008192 and it's not much better. It'd be nice to use 50-60 font, but then many pages obviously won't fit in text window, so it's another work to read the script and insert new page breaks when necessary.

I'd like to hear people's opinions on the font issue.
You might want to put goat-kun on hold for now, since there's a long way to ep4.

>there's no way to animate the mouths right?
No idea.
There is also a number of other animations that would be missing in pc version. I guess the bgs that named "no{digits}_{digits}" are frames of animation.
