May we turn this into meta general? I went to a funeral recently (/jp/ers who were online on thursday may remember me complaining about how I didn't care). The few people I speak with I only do so for my mother to get off my back about me never leaving the house or talking with people, even though I'm sure its all her fault. She was tremendously overprotective when I was growing up, and I could never leave the house or be allowed to talk with girls. Now she expects me to do a complete 180 and be an upstanding normal who knows how to socialize.

My mother always made comments about how she couldn't wait for me to bring home a nice girl, and it put so much pressure on me that I never did actually bring home a girl.
