I'm just curious
What is /jp/ to you
What do you want /jp/ to be

Would /jp/ be enjoyable without visual novels and touhou? What would be left?

>> No.691769

If it weren't for Touhou I wouldn't be here.

>> No.691770

Morning Musume

>> No.691771

>without visual novels and touhou
Why would you strip /jp/ of it's purpose?

>> No.691773

What would be left? Threads started by sex tourists that want to get drunk in Japan.

>> No.691774

>>691767

So...if the board didn't have what the board was FUCKING MADE FOR?

I sure do wonder what /a/ would be like if it talked aobut videogames and not anime.

>> No.691777

I don't look at any VN and touhou threads here. No Melty blood and touhou character threads either. So I would be quite fine with it.

In fact, maybe that would be better and it would attract more people.

/jp/ - Touhou/Type Moon

If we could have some Gundam threads from time to time this place world be perfect.

>> No.691779

>>691771
I only said so because people whine about the amount of threads concerning those topics

>> No.691787

people talking about "touhou and VNs is the purpose of /jp/" are just baaawing and want to restrain the board from becoming a good board.

>> No.691788

You guys are my best friends.
And no, /jp/-Touhou and VNs

Gee, you sure haven't seen the first post of the board have you?

>> No.691822

>>691797

I have, but obviously you haven't. The post stated that all non anime and manga related topics, including touhou and vns (but not limited to those) should now go into this board. What you faggots did was using this as an excuse to spam only touhou faggotry all over here the whole time.

No.

You can start a thread about anything instead of being a whiny cunt.

Or, maybe, there's a lot of Touhou/VN threads because that's what people want to fucking talk about here and surprise, the user base decides content. Live with it.

/jp/ is how I dip into Japanese culture(what little there is of it) without paying any money or downloading anything. Is it representative? No. But /jp/ does tell some good jokes.

>> No.691840

>>691822
Yeah, and /jp/ was created to keep that shit out of /a/(not that it helped /a/ any). You're a fucking idiot for saying it doesn't belong here.

>> No.691856

What is /jp/ to you

The place where all the /a/ oldfags amassed.

>> No.691863

>>691830

I'm not the person you're replying to but "Don't allow one thing to dominate this board" kinda applies in this situation..

>> No.691864

>>691854
Look at the front page. There's plenty of non touhou/vn related threads, dumbass.

>> No.691854

>>691840

Sadly it does. But that's no reason to let it dominate the whole fucking board, like there is nothing else here.

>> No.691880

To me, /jp/ is eroge and touhou.
/a/ is animu and fail.
I like eroge and touhou, so this is acceptable.

>> No.691889

>>691863

1) Reitaisai

2) The one topic that truly dominates this board is bitching about how there's too much of the stuff you don't like and/or how it doesn't belong on this board.

Of course, there is too much Touhou. Tough titties, deal with it. It didn't kill me, it won't kill you either.

>> No.691916

/jp/ got me into visual novels, so that part is OK.

I could do with less touhou/SWR/melty blood/whatever, but my pictures folder has expanded due to some of the nice art/character designs in the pics people post, so whatever.

>> No.691940

>>691889

I know it's Reitaisai time but regardless this place is filled with Touhou threads constantly. While I'm not complaining per se it's quite annoying seeing useless topics being made by the 4chan Touhou fanbase which mainly consists of newfags or sheep trying to fit in with the crowd by liking a niche game series. Imagedumps, netplay and discussion posts are fine but constant reposts of the same image/1 liner/whatever begins to get quite tedious when you browse this site for a number of hours a day..

>Tough titties, deal with it.

Why should I? The first post by moot himself says that there shouldn't be a certain thing dominating the board so I shouldn't need to put up with it in the first place.

>> No.691968

>Tough titties

not a meme

>> No.692015

>>691940

>Why should I?

Because you can't do anything else about it. If it was possible to stop stupid faggots from posting worthless threads, /b/, /v/, /a/, etc. wouldn't have wound up the way they are. The one hour a month this board is moderated it's just to delete all the threads with actual discussion. So, you can deal with it, or you can leave. Because there aren't exactly any other options. If you figure out a way to create a utopia, please let me in on it.

>> No.692045

>>691940
If moot truly didn't want one thing to dominate a board, then he shouldn't have split /a/ in the first place. People are tired of a thread of people like you complaining about /jp/ on the front page all the time. You survived without /jp/ before and you can forget that it exists and leave if you don't like the current content.

>> No.692056

>>692045
Up yours.

>> No.692055

>>691940
Get a life, maybe?

>> No.692060

>>So, you can deal with it, or you can leave

Or we can make quality posts faster than newfags and not bump their shitty threads.

>> No.692065

>>692060
This. When OUR community goes to shit, it's OUR fault. Now, less complaining, more content!

>> No.692068

>>692060

Yes, that is the right attitude. If you think it's possible to truly succeed you're naive, but that is absolutely the right way to go about things. Fight the summer.

>> No.692132

>>692055

No thanks.

>>692068

>Fight the summer.

It's not even here yet and it's already begun..

>>692060

As much as I'd like for that to happen I somehow doubt I'll see the day.

>>692045

VN's and the like didn't belong in /a/ though and a board for the Japanese culture can be good for a wide range of things.

>You survived without /jp/ before and you can forget that it exists and leave if you don't like the current content

Oh? But I enjoy the content in /jp/. There's just too much Touhou the majority of the time. A few threads is nice, sure, but having 6+ threads on the first page alone on Touhou isn't exactly what I want to see when I visit this board.

>>692015

Maybe if moot actually did what he said he would and take action then maybe the board wouldn't be like this. Add in the fact that theres next to no moderation on this board and the little moderation there is can easily be brown nosed by a pack of faggots on IRC. Maybe getting a decent moderation staff, even more janitors, could help just a bit.
