Second episode preview looks surprisingly good. I'm not expecting very much, but at least the animation looks better, even if only because we haven't seen any six finger hands yet.

Maikaze is an okay bunch in my book. I'll be watching this and enjoying this for what it is when it comes out.

Animation and character design looks niftier, hopefully the voices will return.

and this anime is casting professionals to do the work.

After all the bitching and moaning and several failed animation projects, it just struck me;

what is touhou about exactly? it's just a bunch of characters with vastly different outfits of frilly hats and dresses. The canon plots are pretty nonsensical and will most likely not be used for this anime. Then what remains in the bin is loose bits of fanon that is based on character quirks and speculations.

Primary and secondary is a description of how you LEARNED about Touhou. Why do so many newfriends get this wrong is beyond me.

If they really wanted to, they could make Touhou into a 34 episode epic that rivals some of the best series ever made. They certainly have the material available to do it, but they won't do that because it requires effort and money.
