Just a note, as you climb up the ladder, flying around tossing out j6Cs, j2As and the five-card becomes less and less effective, but you probably knew that already. Practice mode is useful for practicing basic combos off the wiki and command specials.

Don't ceiling hug so much. You have more than those two or three moves. Characters that can lay down quick covering fire or have good anti-air will eviscerate you when you land with no spirit.

Okuu, Iku, Remi, and Yuyuko are generally considered top tier, but those assumptions are made based on abilty to confirm moves within X frames and shit like that which isn't applicable for netplay. That pushes technical characters down more and boosts characters with late/easy confirms up a lot.

In terms of blocking in the air, if I just keep holding back I'm setting myself up for an aerial crush. So I poke out Marisa's foot once in a while when I think it's safe, but dat elbow ends up catchin me. I would have the BE option available, but that actually can be caught by doing aerial 5C or 2C or whatever the hell it is I don't know Youmu at all.

You'll notice less problems were hard with Suika in that department. Uh, don't really know what to say. You might consider throwing out rekka more, or else I can just hold 7/9 and either get out of pressure for free or eat a small damage poke and just tech out of the corner. Did a decent job of tking j.6A though.

I've been playing with Rekka a lot more these days but in those games you easily back stepped them mid-screen and in the corner going for high-low poke gimmicks worked decently. I know I can prevent jump outs if I put a slight delay between the first and the second parts but I don't have the mind games yet to keep people trapped in the corner if they just opt to block it.

Good games. I hope you got some good experience out of our games. You really should block on wakeup. Your opponent has the advantage after you're knocked down so their moves will always beat yours when you're getting up. Also, it's easier to move around with in the air with Suwako if you use 66 and 44 to dash instead of holding the D button. Moving that way also lets her cancel her bullets faster for blockstrings and combos.

Why did Wriggle, Mokou, Kaguya, and Nitori have to be scrapped? They would have been awesome in 12.3 Hopefully the next fighting game will have some Th12 characters.

Ugh... GGs. I wanted to play more but my computer crashed just after that last match. This problem has plagued me for months, often at very inconvenient times, but now it seems the culprit has finally revealed itself as I was greeted by this after reboot.

Fucking Radeon X1950 Pro, I've hated it ever since I bought it years ago, and it seems the feeling is mutual. All the trouble with buggy drivers and constant overheating, and now it's no longer even recognized by the drivers. My computer has already crashed 4 times between our games and this post.

A couple of tips: you can cancel yukari's 623B into Ran for some airtight pressure, this is a safe way to get someone trying to graze through, it also gives great frame advantage in the corner for some more pressure. Yeah, you always border escaped at about the same point, which made it fairly easy to punish.
The main thing is that you seemed kind of afraid to take the initiative when you were in a good position, instead of pressing your advantage. You would always run back, shoot once or twice, and get punished for it. Maybe it's because you haven't learned any pressure strings yet. In which case, spend some time in training mode.
Tech out of the corner more often, you neutral teched way too often. As a rule of thumb, tech in the opposite direction I'm moving towards.
Finally manage your meter more carefully, you often wasted it all without really managing to get in, allowing me to counter attack and guard crush you.

What is your take on spell cards? I know you guys can dish out a 3K combo alone, but do you recommend spell cards or do we not deserve that luxury?

It really depends on the card; some spellcards are just useless, since basically any human opponent will block them every time, no matter how good they seem in training/against comps.

However some cards, like Suika's Throwing Atlas, can be timed in a manner to be quite unblockable (Throwing Atlas is especially cruel since it can do half an opponent's life or more with control rods..), or, some cards simply do so much damage that even if you block them you might take a guard crush.

Some cards you can pull off as basically a cap to a combo, and some you can't. Best thing to do imo is dick around in training to see which cards can be tossed into your typical combos, or observe typical deck compositions for other people playing the same char.

I'm pretty sure I got hit out of it by a dA, a 623B (bullshit!) and what I thought was an out of range 6A (extended hitbox before the attack frames come out).
Alice's dA's advantage are that it's fast and air unblockable, it actually has a pretty terrible vertical hitbox.

I probably should get around to learning at least some basics for Remilia and Suwako. It feels like I'm just flailing around randomly with no idea what I should be doing.

The random select gods seemed to like my troll decks, I only have one deck for each character with catfish in it but it felt like 2 out of 3 times it'd be that deck which got selected. Well, at least I didn't get Suwako that often this time around.

I figure you don't like how I often call Typhoon when playing with my joke decks, since you'd often stop fighting altogether. I guess I'll stop doing that, although I feel it's really as valid a strategy as any other gimmick.

They're essential for me, as I bring along low cost spellcards which can boost damage output by about 2k in a combo and my decks usually have a few high cost spellcards in them for gamble do-or-die situations. I also rely on reversal cards over bombs and hangekis as a matter of preference. When it comes to high level play as well, my opponents all learn to completely avoid staying on the ground and jump out of everything. This means any of the (very few) combos that I'll be able to land must count for every ounce of damage.

I don't like the weather in general, but I still abuse it when I can, and it would be silly to only ban things that don't benefit me. If you force typhoon when I'm low on health my only hope is to play keepaway. You should just hunt me down when that happens, don't take it as a signal to wait for the weather to end.
