After their first event competing another school, Touma went to his classroom to get his cellphone so he can call Index. He then accidently walked in on Fukiyose changing clothes in the classroom, and quickly stepped out after seeing her cross popping veins. She threw the first thing she reached to chase him out, which happened to be a mail-order shoulder massager. Touma remarked without thinking she needs one of these at her age only because the size of her large breasts weighing her down, before realising belatedly how bad it could sound to Fukiyose. She threw his bag with such force it blew a hole through the classroom door and smashed right into him. Fukiyose also threw out his cellphone as a afterthought.

Index should have been a short story about a boy with a misfortunes hand who, through overcoming his misfortune, encounters the first luck in his life. it would have been a small OVA series, maybe 3 episodes, with only the first Index arc. Biribiri, Kuroko, Tsuchimikado and other characters that only become relevant later would not be included. Only characters would be Stiyl, Kanzaki, Touma, Index and Komoe. Touma's misfortune would be more serious, he would be seriously depressed, but he would not burden others by showing it. Stiyl and Kanzaki would be further developed. Imagine Breaker would instead be classified as some kind of subconscious esper ability, which Touma loses along with his memories. He receives a thank you note from Stiyl at the end, telling him of the events, and wishing him good luck, along with a photo. Touma never encounters magic again, and later wonders if the whole ordeal had been just some kind of dream, but he lives a life blessed with luck.
