Best Touhou game.
Haters gonna hate, but it will always be my favorite.
Call me shameless, but this game brings me much nostalgia.

I will admit that it has the hardest Stage 4 out of all the games. Marisa and Reimu are ridiculous.

Hardest stages by game:
1. UFO
2. PCB
3. UFO
4. IN
5. UFO
6. SA

I'm torn between PCB and IN
Both have excellent music (which all Touhou games have, but these two have the most)

With that said, IN would be perfect if the gameplay was a bit better. The music is indeed awesome and fits really nice with the stages. Plus, it probably has the best Final Stage (mind you, not Final boss) in the series.

PoFV has maybe three or four actually good songs while everything else are forgettable new tracks or half-assed re-arranged versions of songs that were fine already. Many of INs themes don't feel unique to the characters and sound like they could have been interchanged between half the cast. To be honest I'm not sure why more people don't think that UFO has one of the best soundtracks, especially taken as a whole. There's maybe one or two better songs on other games, but every single one of UFO's songs are quite solid, and Byakuren's theme is as amazing as it is long.
Plus, if curvy lasers everywhere don't make you rage, nothing will.

IN is dull. With a few exceptions most of the stages seem pretty generic. There are one or two good bosses, that's it.

PCB is Touhou at its peak. Every stage is gloriously detailed and different, every spell is awesome and holy shit DAT soundtrack. I've never heard a better soundtrack in any game, commercial or otherwise. It's amazing how one game alone is stuffed with so many incredible tracks.

I'm really, really caught between UFO and SA for favorite soundtrack. There isn't a single song I dislike on either of them, but the highlights are the highest of all lights.
I mean, UFO has Tiny Tiny Clever Commander, Heian Alien, and most importantly Captain Murasa. I mean goddamn, the latter is just incredible. The fight itself wasn't anything special but holy hell, the music just made the first time I fought her one of my most favorite memories of ever.
On the other hand SA is just full to the brim of rad tracks. Last Remote, Hellfire Mantle, Be of Good Cheer, and goddamn Nuclear Fusion.
ZUN has only gotten better at composing and making games in general.
Also Soku's remixes are all sicknasty. Best Marisa theme, hands down. Not to keen on the original song but dat remix and all the other jazzy ones.

MoF would have to be my favorite, I'm probably one of the few that would say that. Despite the easy bomb spamming and the stupid super Marisa B, I got into that game easily because of the music. I feel so excited playing it because the soundtrack seems to mix into the game so well.

Everything about Orin is very easy once you figure out her tricks. Shou on the other hand is still ridiculous after you figure out her tricks. For example, I know that the big spinning green lasers follow your position, but I have no idea how to use this to my advantage to make it easier. I have to bomb that card every time. Not to mention Shou's curvy lasers need more reaction than Orin's very simple attack patterns.

>> No.6505828

>>6505800
Do those green lasers follow you? I play it more like Ran's Ultimate Buddhist card where you just have to follow the laser and then just hit when it gives you some time at the bottom of the screen. It's the only spellcard of hers I can beat consistently right now, just gotta stick to the edge of the screen and memorize when the lasers speed up.

but I agree Rin is a hell of a lot easier than Shou in evrey regards.

>> No.6505853

>>6505828
Yeah, the spinning green lasers follow you to some degree. When you hear a certain sound, a magic circle will appear at your position, and the center of one green laser will move to that position shortly after.
