Well I greatly enjoyed Diablo 2 online with friends, I never played Dungeon Siege 2 online but I did it with my friends over LAN and it was great fun.

Plus Diablo 3 seems to have PvP and it looks a lot like Ragnarok Onlines PvP so I'm fine with that.

I might try Vindictus and Tera if they get EU servers because games like that you can't play with 150~250 ping.

All MMOs are grindy. I'm not going to gig an MMO on the mere fact that it has a grind. What sets a game apart is how they handle the grind.

I played Iris in closed beta and I can tell you that this is the most boring grind I've ever played. Absolutely no innovation or any unique gimmick to keep you glued for more than a quarter day.

CBT player here. Iris is basically a WoW clone, with a couple gimmicks thrown in. The divination system is actually pretty cool though, and actually useful.

Leveling is quest-driven and monotonous, kill x 20 times, talk to y to get kill z 40 times quest, etc. That is, until you run out of quests and then it becomes grindy and monotonous.

The worthwhile part of the game would have to be the boss fights. They actually require teamwork, a balanced party, and adaption to the special skills the bosses possess. Anyone who has fought the last boss on the second instance dungeon knows what I'm talking about. It makes it kind of bad to party with randoms for them though. Our stupid tank never tried to dodge the meteors once.

Yet, I had already left by the time Hotglue became "full of meme-spammers," so either it elevated from a few dumb jokes to full-on retards derping at each other or the popular opinion is grossly exaggerated. From personal experience - like the discomfort experienced after trying to get close to HG in Cosmic Break and whatnot - I'd say all that happened was it changed from a group of /jp/ regulars taking it easy to a slightly larger group of /jp/ regulars trying to make mischief and be obnoxious; it's not really that the latter is BAD, it's just that it'd be better if we could all go back to taking it easy. If that can't happen, okay, I tried.

Alternatively, what made Hotglue so horrible could actually have been the hardasses whining about "no memes, no fun" and trying to make everything their way so that those who actually were taking it easy to begin with couldn't do so anymore. Something to think about it.

This is actually not bad at all. I'm pretty impressed with the engine. Controls are very responsive and movement is natural. Sprites are fairly moé and the environments are kinda psychedelic.

I spent 30 minutes trying to decide between two different eye styles. Also, I'm surprised they let you use three letter character names. Usually four is the minimum.

The user interface is pretty impressive. The key (re)mapping feature is incredibly user friendly. I spent a lot of time fiddling around with that and the chat filters. So after 2 hours I'm still level 2. Hah.

From my general observations Humans seem to have more useful exclusive skills. I kind of regret choosing Elf. The only bright side seems to be the Communion skill.
