you need to see if the magazine is full of bullet ( actually it's a romanian AK 47 it use 7.62x39mm ammo), then if you want to see if a bullet is loaded in the canon just open the bolt action to lock in, if there's a bullet it's loaded, just remove the security and fire, if there's nothing open the bolt action fully and release it to load

The only thing you need to be sure of is that the ammo is in good condition, and that your gun is chambered for it.

You can fire corrosive ammo in an AR-15 all day long, but all you need to do is make sure you clean it out good after doing so. It takes weeks, months of sitting with no cleaning after firing this ammo to have much of an affect. Some older military ammo have salts in the primer to extend their lifespan. Just clean well after shooting these kinds of rounds. Its not like the rounds are loaded with battery acid or something.

I'm sure a particular brand of .22 WMR is more accurate, more powerful, better at penetrating armor,
and makes bigger wounds than an another brand of it. Too bad it still doesn't change the fact it's
inferior to any real self-defense cartridge. Face it, you're not going to meet a mugger in Level II
armor. Good for you, though, because you would probably die miserably with a knife in
your stomach long before he would bleed out from all the tiny, tiny wounds you would inflict him.
