This is a very delicate thing actually, I'm afraid that the "take it easy" concept about threads that ARE RELATED AND FINE but you don't care is great. But then again, who will state if they are or not? Mods can't be machines after all. If we have a good number of people saying something is fine here and a good number of people saying it's not then it's a problem, and that happens a lot around here.

I have no issues with people trying to discuss tangentially related topics in here as long as they can keep it in a single thread and there's not a better board for that. Also that it doesn't violate global rules, like /b/ shit out of /b/ and various blog-like topics.

/jp/ has always been live and let live, otherwise we couldn't coexist with some of the people that post in their secluded topics, like the idol fans.

The problem comes from a vocal minority I think. Being anonymous it's easy to make it seem as the board rejects something while the reality could very well be that it's just someone that felt slighted and the rest just ignoring it.

The problem with ignoring is that it's bad for newcomers.

For example someone make a thread about something that fits /v/ better. Our good anons ignore it (or might even report silently) but for those that are new here, they will think it's fine for such content to be here since no one is complaining, that will cause more and more of that being posted here and those topics usually are not condensed.

That's no reason to give up on /v/ altogether. If you make good posts on a bad board, you improve it by just a little bit. I frequent /v/ for the discussion, or what remains of it, and I come to /jp/ to take it easy and get Touhou discussion I can't elsewhere. I don't see the two as mutually exclusive in any way.

I think the main problem is that /b/ occasionally has "roll a number and choose which board to raid xD" threads which shit up a board at random. Slow boards then to be affected more than others.
/b/ has stopped being a quarintine board, now it's pure (excuse the term) cancer.

All you can do is find something else to do when a raid takes place. /jp/ is just too slow to do anything else and commenting in the raiders threads will get you banned. Letting them know you don't like it just feeds /b/ and invites daily raids. All you can do is shine it. /v/ has also raided /jp/ and is part of the reason I hate /v/

Also giving up on /v/ will just make it worse.
Mods have the term "lost territory" for boards they can't handle a lot, included in those are /a/b/v/sp/ and /jp/ would probably be in that category if it wasn't for our most beloved maid.
Adding more bloodthirsty mods to EACH BOARD (mods being global is also a big problem considering a single mod cannot visit all boards) will reduce spam and shitposting greatly.
This is the main issue with lol Anonymous board, moot cannot pick moderators (Not that trips are better for that, since it's easier to see when they shitpost)
